Heater fan and power windows not working

Hello everyone, I am new here and have a question about a 2005 neon that my son just bought.
My son purchased this car last week with 43K miles from a dealer neaby (Ann Arbor). Anyway, he decided he wanted to install a sub-woofer(?) in his trunk. He and a friend, who has installed several of these things before, installed the unit by, apparently, tapping off the existing radio to a relay and running a new power cable directly to the battery. Everything seemed fine until he tried to close his driver's side window. There was no power. He tried his RF door window and found no power there either. Later he also found that his heater fan was also inoperable.
He took his car back to the fly-by-night dealer (he had it only 7 days) and asked them to repair the problem. He has a 30 day warranty but the dealer told him that since he had added the subwoffer that he had voided the warrenty and therefore he wouldn't honor the warrenty!!!
After telling me about the problem I asked him if he had disconnected the battery BEFORE installing the woofer and he says yes he did (But I am doubtful). We checked all the fuses that we could find but all are good. We could not locate any fuse or relay that were marked "Power Windows" or "Heater fan" so we don't know what to do next. I checked the wiring that was installed for the woofer but could not see anything obviously wrong and I am doubtful that the installation of this unit would have created this problem. I am worried however that if this work was done while the battery was connected that he could have shorted or grounded something in the wiring, but that should have blown a fuse or been obvious in some way. Again, we checked the fuses in the engine compartment and under the dash but all were good and none were marked for the windows or heater fan.
So my question is: where are the fuses for the power windows and heater fan in a 2005 neon? Is there a common fuse or relay associated with both windows and fan? Am I missing something here? I have been on-line all morning searching for a wiring diagram for this car but cannot find anything.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks everyone

If I find time tonight I'll look in my 2001 service manual, can't promise that the wiring is the same. but at least it will give some insight....maybe. Surely the windows worked when he bought it, at least you hope that he checked them... :beatstick:

Thanks everyone. The model is SXT. Yes, all the windows, fans, etc worked when he bought it. It sure SEEMS that it should be something simple, like a fuse or relay or something...we just can't find the bugger.

Thanks BCF. I got the diagrams and will study them today (to figure out which drawing applies).
Thanks to everyone else also. I will keep you posted on what we find.

Hello everyone,
Well, we have solved the problem. Yesterday we checked all the fuses with an ohmmeter and...LO and Behold we found the problem! A fuse marked Ignition/Run (#4 located in the fuse box in the engine compartment) was the culprit. In spite of LOOKING like it was good, the test proved otherwise.
We replaced this fuse and now the heater fan and all windows work! I dunno why the fuse was marked Ignition (the HVAC fuse was good) but changing it solved the problem.
Thanks to everyone, especially Rafael, for their advice.
Peace,
Dave

$4 test lights work well for checking fuses if both sides don't light up you know it's bad. Glad you found the problem.
