Cluster Swap Issue

Post by latief » Wed Nov 21, 2007 6:25 pm

So i finally swapped my cluster with a white face cluster....

off course i got an ABS light and trac light on so i unlpugged the bulbs and all was good.

the only problem is that I am getting a break warning also, it turns off initially, then comes back on..i remember reading about this somewhere over here, any ideas why ? the donor car is a 00-02 and mine is a 2000 also.......

and someone please reminnd me how to A-reset the needles within the cluster, and B-check for a codes.......i forgot how to do these.....

thanks a lot

hmmm... the 03-05 cluster swaps don't have any of these problems?

I went from SE to SXT white face and didn't have to remove any bulbs, have no unexplained lights and had to do no guage needle resets... also gained the low fuel warning beep as well as the tach and better color faces

When I did my swap the brake light was always on, I just took out the bulb. The fix is in the how to section. I'm not brave enough to attempt it ..yet.

You hold down the trip odometer reset button while turning the key on to do the needle dance, your speedometer should sweep across the face and your fuel and temp needles should go from bottom to top

How to pull your Check Engine Light Codes:

Put your key in at the OFF position, from there go - ON - OFF - ON - OFF - ON without starting the engine at the 3rd position. This will bring up the code(s) in a sequence like this:

P1684, - - - - - , P0134, - - - - - , P0132, - - - - - , DONE

Thanks!!!

Just a follow up on this, are there neons that came with this white face cluster + Tach, but without ABS?

i'm starting to think that maybe i should replace this one with a differnent one without the brake light issue, just in case i ever loose brake fluid and actually need it...

I have ABS on my 03 r/t. Also I swapped my 140 faced cluster with an srt cluster without any bulb issues, such as the brake light staying on.
