Buyers Guide: Buying an SRT-4?
What should I look for when buying a used SRT-4?
Any specific problems to check for?
Any advice?
I just don't want to buy it, think everything's okay, then find out it's a lemon.

Transmission (slippage, sticky gears, hard to shift, strange noises smell, abnormal opperation, etc)
clutch (slippage, strange noise, smell, abnormal opperation, etc)
Turbo (works properly, no strange sounds or abnormal opperation, make sure it doesn't burn oil)
get a car fax to find out if it's a salvage or clean
your block SHOULD be ok, it's designed for the abuse people put it through
All I can think of on the engine.

Just make sure the previous owner isnt a jackass, and you should be fine. SRT-4' s were designed to be driven and driven hard. The ammount of mods really arent important, the car at the link I will post at the bottom is/was highly modifyed but still it might be the most loved SRT-4 you will ever find.

Thanks.
I've been trying to find a new car for the past month, but every time I find what I want there's either something wrong with it, it's too far, or someone else buys it right before me.
I'm going to check out an 04 SRT-4 Monday, so my fingers are staying crossed until then. It's a reasonable price, near by, so I'll probably be trying to get it as long as it has an engine.
Just wanted to see if there's anything I should beware of.

^^I've decided to bite the bullet and use up the last of my retirement savings in January to pay off the loan (waiting for after the first of the year for tax reasons as there will be a huge tax penalty for emptying out my CD IRA). I really didn't want to part with the car, especially with what I went through to get it in the first place but this definitely confirms that I will be a Wal-Mart greeter in a few years...
