I'm trying to get my car up on jackstands on all four corners to get it disassembled and thouroughly cleaned up. The problem is there is only this little plate where I can put the jack to get it lifted...but then I have no place to put the jackstand!

In the rear I can place the jack under the subframe and lift the whole rear section for the two stands but the front has me perplexed. How the hell can I lift the front AND get in on stands?

Any ideas and espescially pics would be extremely helpfull.

Jack up one side at a time by the pinch welds, once the car is up high enough, slide the stands under the frame rails and then lower the car down, then move to the opposite side and do the same, just watch out for tipping jack stands...

My pinch welds seem to be bending a bit when I do that and I don't trust 'em to hold. is there an area in the center of the rail that's a little tougher than the rest to get one whole side up?

Hey man, your car is as low as mine so i can help ya out on this one... here is what I do. take a couple peices of plywood and drive up on them to get the car high enough to get the jack under the front. then run your jack to the center support behind the engine. crank that bad boy up and place your jack stands on either the sides of it or like a mounting point for the suspension or something. then the rear kinda the same deal, slide the jack under the center beam in the back, jack and throw your stands on the same side... too easy my friend... just gotta get some "wood" the tree stuff that is...

Had that thought but wasn't sure how safe that was. I'll have to give that a try and keep an eye out for tipping jackstands.

if you do what he mentioned, make sure your ebrake is off and the car is in neutral, this way when you startraising the car up in the air, it will roll forward with the jack....

if your pinch welds are bending by jacking it up, then you might want to take a good look at them. if you read directions, whether it's for a hydrolic jack or a hoist, they say to use the pinch welds. after going through auto body schooling i can tell you that the pinch welds are one of the strongest points on a vehicle.

Mine seem to be the weakest part of the car as they are all bent to hell from previous attempts by myself and others to lift the car except on the very ends where there's an extra 4" plate welded to them specifically for the jack.
I've hammered them back to shape as best I can but they will not hold the weight of the car. Once the wheel comes off the ground the creaking and bending starts.
