I get about 29-30 mixed driving. Road trip 2 weeks ago got 31-32 @ 750-80mph and then on the way back, the guy I was following was towing a trailer and we were doing about 50 for 5 hours and I went almost 300 miles on just a hair over half a tank. 286 miles or something like that. I did the math and it came out to 44mpg and change. Friggin awesome. I been driving 5 miles under the speed limit since then. but I usually avaerage roughly 90-100 mile per every quarter tank. But mine's on '01.
EDIT: And BTW, it was about 30 degrees F the whole time.

Not sure on highway for either one. If you have an 03 ATX neon I swear there is a gas eating problem. A lot of 03 people complain about their MPG. Or, so I have seen. I think there is a problem since its a new PCM and everything and by 04 it was fixed.

Thats what I have and I get great mileage on the highway. I drove a 200 mile trip and used less then half a tank, but that was about 50mph in the snow. Its all how you drive it guys, I know i can get about 10mpg in the city sometimes.

well i gutted my cat. converter before i was getting about 60 miles on a 1/4 of a tank driven like 50 -55mph now im getting 75 1/4 driven 80-90 mph so im guessing if i drive like a good boy 60 mph i should be getting at least 30 mpg!!

I'm getting around 26 lately. Sure miss the '95- I used to get high 30's to low 40's most of the time back then.

i got 24.65mpg on my last tank, all highway. i'm disappointed, since i only got into boost once or twice to pass slow moving retards in the left lane. average speed @ 70mph.

I went from D.C. to Virginia Beach last night, a little over 200 miles, and I am a smidge over half a tank still. So I'd say that's around 40 mpg. All of it was of course spilt between 95S, 295, and 64.

I've only filled it up once, as I bought the car <2 weeks ago xD
But I got about 25-26 on that tank.

25-26 avg. with "spirited" city driving.
It would be fun to see what a Neon built for just MPG could do. Skinny, hard tires...lots of weight redux, no accessories, etc.

26 in city (usually city driving)
32-34 on highway

I have been getting about the same..... 29-31 mpg in "mixed" driving.
2000 Plymouth LX, with manual everything (trans, windows, etc.)
This is during winter, with the temps in the 15-30 deg.F (-30-25 C) range.
I expect that gas mileage will get better as it warms up outside and gas stations start switching to the "summer" blend of gasoline ....

I'm either an unconscious lead foot or there's something wrong with my car because my gas mileage has been a pretty regular 19-21 mpg all winter (it's been really cold...) and now that it's warmer I'm getting roughly 23-26 and that's city driving.
For some reason I thought Neon's were rated at about 20-23 mpg... I wonder why everyone (but me) is getting much higher?

Is yours an automatic trans, or manual ??
Manuals get
considerably better gas mileage than the automatic Neons do.

It's an automatic... I can't be the only one with an automatic around here!

Now you know why everyone around here talks about swapping their automatic Neons over to a Manual trans.

I get 33 no matter how easy I go on the pedal... no matter how fast or slow I go. I've stayed under 60 for a tank and drove it like a little old lady. 33 mpg.
I drive it like a mad man... 33mpg.

2002 Base ATX - was getting 23mpg mixed driving. Changed out plugs, wires, and filter getting close to 28mpg with mixed driving. BTW - is there a little light with sound "ding" that comes on when you hit 2 gallons until empty like the 1gn's had? I haven't hit it yet and it has gotten close to the red part of gauge near empty several times.

Yes. Freaked me out when I was listening to The Smashing Pumpkins, as one of their songs has that same sound.

So it is the last chance light when you are about to run out of fuel? Sounds like dynomite engineering there......
