Dumb question

Post by WykedHellFire » Tue Mar 11, 2008 10:24 am

I think my driver's side marker lens is cracked, but the bulb must be blown as well since it doesn't light up anymore, how do I remove this bulb and lens? thanks guys!

When you say marker lamp, you are talking about the lamp on the side of the bumper, yes? If so, the bulb can be removed by turning the socket that holds the bulb a 1/4 counter-clockwise. That will unlock the socket and you simply pull it out. The harness is more than long enough to let the bulb hang below the bumper to plug in a new 194 bulb. If you need to remove the lamp, once the socket is out, there will be a "U" shaped clip that slides into grooves in the lamp to hold it to the bumper (it is like the old school/import door lock retaining clips if that helps the visual). Slide the clip forward IIRC, and the lamp is easily removed.

This is very easy to do on the passenger side, tough on the drivers unless you have a CAI.
If I could just figure out how to meld the Outback and the Neon into one car...

If it is the passenger side, you can access it by reaching up under the bumper cover. If it is the drivers side, and you don't have a CAI, then removing the cover where it attaches to the fender liner will allow you to pull the liner out from the bumper lip to reach the light from that point.

Or if you don't want to lay on the ground, remove the headlights.
