Lately my car has been stalling a lot Once the cars becomes warmed up due to regular driving the car will stall when I am at a traffic light.

The RPM's drop from the normal idle of 900-1000 RPM to about 500 RPM. IIRC this is normal in 2gn's due to poor design of the throttle body not allowing enough air through when the plate is closed.

Once the RPM's drop to 500 RPM the engine tends to just stall out. I just did get new wires (Crane Firewires 8.5mm), and I checked my the gap on my spark plugs and they look good.

What do you guys think I should do in this situation? I was think that these could fix my problem possibly:

1) New Plugs
2) Transmission Fluid Flush (Due to another thread I read about stalling)
3) Recharge my K&N
4) Lastly, park my car in Detroit and hope it gets stolen so I can get insurance money to put towards a new car

Get rid of the ATX, that'll solve all your issues, And make your car faster!

Yah, it's pretty normal.... every so often mine did it but once I installed my grounding system I can't remember the last time it did it.

During the winter mine idles fine at stoplights, etc; however, during the warmer summer weather it idles a bit rougher but has not done the stalling thing yet.

If I'm going to be at the light for a while I will pop it into neutral with tends to smooth out the idling a bit. (ATX)

I figure it it just another Neon quirk that I can live with.

with a new filter and regapped sparkplugs, my car idles like a champ.

You can always try removing and cleaning the IAC motor, at least spray some penetrating oil in there, and reinstall. May not work, but it takes 10 minutes tops, and it's free, if you already have some spray lube handy. (It's the silver thing bolted to the top of the TB if you didn't know.) Being an '01 it has the o-ring instead of the gasket like the newer ones. That's a good thing. The gaskets tear.

You know what mine use to sputter A LOT. I changed the plugs and wires and it was fine. I came to the conclusion after my mechanic told me #2 cylinder was misfiring. Get it diagnosed. ( or whatever that shits called)

I have come to a few conclusions though:

1) The stalling is temperature dependent. At temperatures below 50 Deg. F the car's idle does not fall to 500-600 RPM.

2) After checking the spark plugs, I noticed burnt oil in the tubes. Is this normal? I would assume so because of the mileage of my car(87000). I was thinking about changing the tube gaskets if this problem gets any worse.

3) I switched back to my normal plug wires (7.5mm) and I have not had the problem since. However, the car has not seen temperatures above 50 deg F yet.
