hey guys....sorry about the second topic, but my car is getting a mind of its own. when i was talking with my sisters bf earlier i was blipping the throttle to let him hear the other noise when my car started the chug a bit, he said that my tps may be an issue soon. well earlier i had the tps and iac off the car and shot them with throttle body cleaner and re-installed, tried to start the car and accidently had the iac unplugged so it tripped a code....i hooked it back up and disconected the battery to clear the code...started the car and it was fine..then i went to leave and the light came back on...same code P0508..its for the iac sensor, so i reset it again and went for a ride, no light came on but the car is idling high, goes up to 1500rpms and hangs when in park, and when driving if i let off the gas the car doesnt slow down, and doesnt downshift(3spd atx) until i come to a stop, the car seems to want to keep going, and as i turned down my street the car started to speed up without me touching the gas...like the rpms started to go up.
plz help...i think i pissed my car off ...two weeks ago we bought an 05 for my gf, and since then my is mad at me.

Did you check the cables going to the TB? Sometimes they can get stuck. Lemme look in the book.
Okay the book says if the engine surges while the accelerator is held steady there could be an air intake leak, fuel injector problem, emissions control system problem, or something else. Dunno if that's what you're looking for, but check the cables.

I'd say IAC, it sounds like an idle issue.

Sounds like an idle issue, yes, but I don't have any knowledge of what an Idle Air Controller does, or what it is, or anything.

Make sure the seal for the IAC isn't damaged. By " i had the tps and iac off the car and shot them with throttle body cleaner and re-installed," did you soak the TPS sensor? I don't know if it would hurt it, but it may have. But you don't have a code, so the vacuum leak is prolly the cause. if you removed the TB to clean the other parts check the clamps on the bellows tube, too.
Another possibility could be the kickdown cable to the ATX, or the lever on the kick down is sticking.

Try taking the IAC off again, checking it out, and then re-installing it. When I installed my 60mm throttle body i noticed that there is a piece in the middle of the IAC that sticks into the throttle body and you might have it pointing vertically and it should be pointing horizontally (or the opposite).

well...ended up being a bone header on my part.....accidently put the tps on upside down....haha...kinda noticed it today when i went to get on the highway and it didnt want to go......then i went and looked at my gf's "new" neon and noticed i had it upside down and my throttle stop screw had been adjusted...so...put it back down......put the tps back on right...and voila....fixed the problem.........yeah yeah..you can stop laughing now..

That never entered my mind, tho you said you had taken it off. Well at least you had another Neon to compare.
Well I got to give it to:

This is a good case for that!
I hope that PS fluid flush is still on your schedule. May as well pick up some fluid while you're getting that alternator.
