Proportioning valves and master cylinders have ALWAYS been different on a car with or without rear disc. Its not a bolt in unless you are able to install some type of rear proportioning valve to control the pressure to the rear disc brakes......
If I remember correctly, disc brakes use less pressure than drum...but I could be wrong....

Hey guys thanks for the input. There is a salvage yard here in Tucson pulling everything off of an 03 rt (same car my sides came from) for me. I'm gonna replace it all just to be safe. Still if anyone has done this before let me know.
Thanks

thats the first time i hear that, well i think the neon needs a lil bit more rear braking blance.
I feel my front brakes always locks before my rears.

i thought all cars did that.....front grab more than the rear

Correct... your front brakes do about 70% of the work stopping the car. Keep in mind, increasing the rear braking power with a proportional valve, if givin the rear to much braking power, when cornering, you are more likely to break the rear end loose and loosing control. Pretty much like if you were to do an eBrake turn.

i know, but i still the rear could use a little bit more power.

I swapped my rear drums with SRT-4 rear discs and it works fine without any proportioning valve change whatsoever. No problems and no ass-end squirrliness.

are Srt-4 rear brakes bigger than the regular neon ones?
i know the front ones are but im not sure about the rear.

part numbers are different.....
5085651AA - (non-srt) - 5/16's thick and 10 1/2 diameter
5085652AA - (srt) - a hair under 7/16's thick and 10-1/2 diameter
The only difference is thickness in the rotors.....calipers are also different..but I cant get my hands on them to found out what the difference is....

Aside from being powdercoated red, I think they're just a bit wider to fit the slightly wider rotors.
