A/C fill up and problems...
My AC is not cooling as it used too. It also at times sounds like there is something stuck inside the fan. I decided to stop at Advance and buy the "Chill AC Fill Kit" which has the gauge. It has 4 levels, ( ADD - GOOD - TOO MUCH - DANGER ) For some reason it marked (TOO MUCH/SEE A MECHANIC) Then I tried it on another neon, same thing. The way I did it, I connected the AC kit to the AC input by the washing fluid reservoir, had a black cap. Then turned on the car and put the AC full blast.
Did I do it right? Could it be AC is messed up? Did I put it on the right input, is there another one?
HELP

Take it to a professional, AC work isnt meant to be done in your garage. Those kits are about as useful as fuel injector cleaner.

If I had the machine I could do anything with an A/C. I was EPA certified for a while.

[quote="unleashedcc"]fuel injector cleaners don't work?
I hope that was sarcasm
Couldnt we all Frank?
That's the #1 reason AC should be left to professionals. Lack of proper equipment (and knowledge, for most).

A evacuation, refill and leak check can be anywhere from $100-$200

Fortunatly many AC issues can be determined without ever getting into the system. Clutch issues, wiring issues, blend door problems, and leaks can be found without taking the car in.
On the other hand, taking any action to fix most AC problems, aside from something like wiring or a failed clutch, will require a machine, refrigerant, and an experienced technician.
