Just curious, where that extra 18 horsepower comes from. I would just like to know every part that is different. And hopefully make this a sticky.

intake manifold, exhaust manifold, cam, head (larger exhaust ports, slight polish), tranmission (3.94?), pcm

they also have a higher-flowing/more efficient cat converter and pistons - mag's have some special heat coating and 9.9:1 (which is still low for a 'sporty' car) versus the 00-02 non mag c:r of 9.6:1..... even worse is the 03+ with a 9.3:1
and yes, the awesome 3.94's ahhhh

the coating on the piston is only on the side skirts, I was told they did that to all 2gn's for better wear protection...

ok so if they dropped the compression to 9.3 for the 03+, how can they still claim the same 132 hp? marketing plot or did they change anything?

timing adjustments...
same kinda idea for the 01 -> 02 magnum.... the '01 had a 'stronger' cam than the '02, so when the '02 came out and they decided to tone down the cam, they had to make timing adjustments so it could still meet 150hp...

the magnum has the trick intake mainfold, where at low rpm the longer runners are open, then short runners open up at high rpm, keeps the power climbing. you can hear the difference, it's pretty sweet.

actually, its:
'open' (short, thick runners = low velocity, large volume) from idle to 3200 and 4900+ @ WOT
'closed' (longer, thin runners = high velocity, lower volume) from 3200-4900
yes, it does sound cool when you hit the 4900rpm mark, but its not nearly as loud as 'hitting vtec'

haha go back to bed old man.. not to get off topic.
anyway, certain acr's, possibly a 'grassroots' edition' (as i found out last night) made it through production with a 7500 rpm rev-limiter as oppose to the 6800 in all of the other 2g models....
now before anyone calls BS on this, i will try to get video of it after i get back from vacation... in fact, hes on this board, his name is belleracr. he doesnt have an aftermarket ecu either.

this aint too far off topic, but anyone know what the gain is by putting a 01 magnum cam in a 02 magnum, or putting the 02 magnum pcm in a 01 magnum? its cant be huge but i was just curious

the cam idea works but you need the ecu reflashed (idk if different m/y are even compatible)
