Considering 02' Project: Put into the 13s... Ideas?

I myself own an 04... but between the NGC mystery and 200+ lbs of stereo in my trunk alone, there is no way im gonna try to push my car like that... ill get it to the low 16s and be happy (with system in) all NA. As for my wife, though... she wants a neon. And she wants a fast one ;) But we dont want to pay the price for the SRT-4. So, were looking at 02's on ebay and such.

What would you say it would take to get into the 13's with one? I was thinking the stage 2 Chillfactory, good tires, #14 cranes (#14 is turbo cam, right? maybe it was 12... cant remembeR), UDP, weight reduction, 2.5" exhaust (think bigger?), STS, and maybe an intercooler sprayer (c02).

Think that might do it or come close? As long as it can beat a stock SRT-4 in the end, ill be happy :D

well.

14 is usless for your rpm range, get the 12.
all those mods are a good idea, but i better idea is the stage 2 kit, and dyno tuning to 230whp. no point in buying the kit, making 190whp with it, then making the rest with other bolt ons, when u can make ALL the power you need with the turbo kit alone. drag radials and an untuned turbo car will probably get you 13s with decent driving....

Not sure if i understood right :D So you are saying go with the stage 2 as i was saying before OR dont get stage 2 and go with stage 1?

Also, now that im thinking about it... the only differance is the intercooler, correct? And for the price differance, couldnt i get a larger intercooler?

for the price of a chill factory get a srt4 engine and put some more money into that...then u would beat a srt4 and pay insurace for an sxt....

2.0 sohc > 2.4 dohc anyday in my opinion. the srt swap is already getting played out. i knwo more people with srt powerd turbo neons then turbo 2.0s...
