Compressor shit the bed

Post by Mat00ES » Fri Oct 31, 2008 3:14 am

So, for awhile my ac compressor has been acting up. Finally, the other night it seized completely. My question is, is there a way I can put a small belt and basically bypass it, or do I have to remove it completely.
Its 3am, so if that doesn't make sense I'll fix it in the morn(later).

Its a serpetine belt, just go to your autoparts store and tell them your story and they'll get you the non a/c belt. I know this might sound confusing but don't forget to tell them that this is the a/c belt that you need since you had it and not the other belt.

That is confusing. So he's getting the belt without the A/C option, right?

What? You mean that's the accessory belt he needs?

Ok so their is two belts going off the motor. I'm pretty sure one runs only a couple things like ps, and the other one goes off to the ac compressor. When I had to buy belts to fix our altima we had to specify whether the belt was an ac belt or not in order to get the correct belt. He wants the a/c belt but for a non a/c neon.
hope that helps.

The two belts are the Alt belt and the P/S-A/C belt.

Ask for a P/S belt for a Neon without A/C.

The top two pictures show the belt routing for non-A/C and with A/C
If I could just figure out how to meld the Outback and the Neon into one car...

How can you have an air conditioner belt for a car without air conditioning?

Should give you a little better acceleration as well, not much but slightly noticeable. The other belt is for the alternator just to clarify.
