OK heres my first problem!!! Help!!!

Ok last night my Wife decides to try and learn to drive Stick in my Neon. SO We have been going over the basics for the last 2 weeks, but yesterday she decided to go it on her own. She Stalled it many many times, and Down shifted from 3rd to first, and made the motor go REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE.. But she started to get the hang of it. SO I let her take a spin to her parents without me.

Now the problem.. I am driving MY NEON to work this morning and 1 out of every 10 time or so I push my Clutch in It makes a Pop noise like when You Flex Sheet metal or, Lean on some ones fender and dent it in. What on earth could be making that noise. The Car seems to drive ok, Clutch Seems to work.. What on earth is that noise. Also could some one verify for me the 2000 was not a hydrolic clutch right????
