might be a Missouri thing. Cause in 2005 I went to a bunch of dealerships in Florida and California and never saw this color scheme.

i dunno man but they say it was done and that would make the cars rare, just like the last muscle cars in the 70s that the dealers just threw all the spare decals and parts on those cars are worth tons now

It's not rare.
If you asked a dealer to smear shit over your car before delivery they'd probably do it, for free too! That doesn't make it an "option” or “factory” or “stock.”

I've seen those stripes on an srt before. They're white, not cream.

they are cream,
and u are saying that a 73 roadrunner that has the stripe package on it from a dealer that was discontinued in 71 isnt rare this makes the car more desirable because they are RARE

i can't tell that the stripes are cream. To me the stripes look white because they match the license plate.
...are you going to buy it or not?!

Dealerships will do anything to help get more $ out of a car, or if it hasn't sold for a while. A "dealer option" isn't going to make it worth anymore to a collector. Factory installed options are the ones that count. Back in the eighties one of my buddies bought an S10 blazer that had been lifted, big tires installed as a "dealer option". 6 months of ownership, and the balljoint let loose going down the highway. It rolled multiple times. Thankfully he wasn't injured, other than some minor scrapes, but needless to say he got a brand new Blazer without any hassles. Sometimes a "dealer option" isn't the best thing.

There were only three factory options for the SRT-4:
sunroof
Kicker system w/ CD changer
airbag seats
Anything else added was done by the dealer using aftermarket-sourced stuff. If one had a white interior, maybe the dealer installed Katskin leather seat covers.

i understand what u are saying but he didnt pay any extra for the stripes and i wouldnt either what im sayin is down the road car that came with different options, rather its factory or dealer or a outsourced company like shelby, will be worth more to collectors.
my dad has a 71 challenger r/t 340 auto car, factory plum crazy car factory white r/t stripes, but it had a black vinyl top and interior, but the dealer replaced the top and interior with white! now when the appraiser and collector sites ran the vin and the options the car is worth more because of its rarity

That car will not be worth more to collectors unless it has been stored from day 1 and has 5 miles on it

One of my local dealerships put stripes on every color srt-4 available, they called it the mariah package and usually added aftermarket wheels and an intake.

i have a 70 dart that was an original slant 6 auto car that had over 200,000 miles on it and when we got it appraised it was worth about 7500 when it was 1200 new, so i guess it depends on the collectors, the car now has a built 340 in it and is worth nothing lol

economy was a
little bit different in the 70's than it is now. oh wait ALOT different. so yeah the car is going to be worth more now.
ok say its 50 years in the future, who knows where the economy will be. an srt with any milage could be worth 3 times what they cost new or they could be worth $10. depending on the economy. but i understand where you are comming from the the OB with cream/white stripes. but i doubt it was factory. black stripes would of been sick though
