:withstupid: yeah because If you don't you can get into serious problems and just waste a lot of money because you can easily screw up with making things if not done properly... Not that I've done it.. I've just seen how its made.

There is only one way to learn. It takes more than research. You have to get your hands dirty sometime...

True but if it was me I'd make something small to test out how everything will work out.

well i gotta make a mold of the part, so im gonna need to get fiberglass molding first, make that and then ill have something that i can actually make the part out of. (yes i slightly know what im doing)

It still gonna be a pain to do the molding. Since it's carpet your negative mold will not be even but it would look hella cool if done right. Take a great amount of pictures and do a how-to. I've seen how they do carbon fiber and the process is not extremely complicated. It's just the preparation that's a PITA.

EDIT: There's also the type of CF cloth you're buying. If I remember correctly, Single twill will be more rigid thus harder to mold around curves while 2x2 will be more flexible so you can *easily* wrap it around stuff.

i planned on 2x2. who knows, if this works out maybe ill start slingin um for a decent price, since ill already have the mold.

I kinda like the stealth look, but with a hard surface you would need some kind of grill anyways. The only thing is, how do you clean the speakers when they get covered with dust?

Very carefully is a given.

With all the vibration, dust doesn't stand a chance on my speakers.
