My dream car is a RWD Neon SRT4... the Hyndai genesis coupe (2.0T) was a let down. Looking forward to the FT-86 release in a year or 2...but I really want 5 seats. So right now I think about a 3 series BWW (probably too expensive to mod and maintain) or more likely a WRX...

I have pretty much given up hope that Dodge will pull its head out of its ass anytime in the near future.

As far as the Fiesta...the S2000 is pure sex...but the models we will actually be able to get our hands on, not so much.

Small Dodges in the future will most likely be based on the Fiat Grande Punto, now sold in Europe. Neon will always have a cult following. Insurance ratings killed the Neon as much as the "cheap headgaskets".

It makes more sense to "redo" Chargers and Challengers because of the higher prices.

Buwahahaha, the thread that will never die!

I'd have to agree on the insurance BS.

I pay more for collision & comprehensive coverage for my 2005 Dodge Neon, than I pay for the 2009 Dodge Avenger. This may only be a Louisiana phenomenon, but considering the difference in
values, I believe my Insurance agent who says it's due to the insurance rating symbols. Of course liability coverage is identical for all cars on the policy.

This is what State Farm told me at the time. It is when I dropped them. I was paying About $400/year on my '99 XJ, and they wanted $700/yr more to cover the neon. C-ya!

The liability was the biggest increase. Me thinks I can do far more damage with the Jeep. The Jeep had a higher value at the time also. Now with different insurance, the neon is still higher than the Jeep, but only by about $50/yr. It really depends on the company.

I had a 1998 Camaro Z28 with 325hp quoted at being $20 less per month than my Neon.

I think it is more of the prevailing age group that is behind the wheel. They are generally first cars, and the 1gn's crash ratings didn't help any. The stigma has never left. Being the car with the highest mortality rate definately figures into the equation. Unfortunately, DCX did little to defend the 2gn.

Chrysler isn't paying attention to this thread. So bumping it for that reason won't help.

Forget about Chrysler!

Fiat is trying to promote their 500 to compete with Mini Coopers, by selling them in the showrooms of the remaining Chrysler LLC dealerships.

Honestly, for some reason, the Fiat 500's intrigue me. They are so small, yet look so sporty for some reason - like what the new Mini should have been.

And an Aston Martin... oh how I love these cars. From the V8 to the V12, their body lines are all purely fuckable.

So, does it seem like the 500's are replacing the Neon?

I'm ok with the 500 replacing the neon. A few years down the road I'd rock one.

Neon > 500 for the simple fact that Fiat has decided to build them at Toluca rather than Belvidere. That's what is important to me.

The 2009 Fiat 500 Abarth is a real screamer.

The normal Fiat 500 is a tiny, mild mannered
economy car. The Fiat Grande Punto is closer
to the size of our beloved Neons.

Do I really want a slightly smaller neon, though? Really? Especially one that's made by Italians?

I dk about the 500, I've been aiming for an RX-8 for a little while now.

Now if the 500 were rear wheel drive...

I love my neons, but I don't expect them to measure up to the more expensive sport cars.

I'd love to own a new Nissan 370Z, but my SRT-4 gives me "better bang for my buck". If money wasn't an issue, everybody would
buy Vipers from their friendly Dodge dealers.
