Coilpack wire problem

I have a new coilpack and the connector that goes into the side wont come off the stock one. The little red piece that slides in and out broke due to a friend liking to unplug it while I have the hood popped and make me think the car wont run. Is there a replacement for this or a trick someone has to get it off? Thanks

lol I'm having the same problem with my fan. Fucking clips broke so I just cut the wires. Gonna see if there's a separate connector or if I have to buy the whole harness. Otherwise I'll just use the old one, but I'd really like to replace all these plugs with ones that don't lock like Fort Knox.

If you can still see the little red piece on the side facing you, I would say try taking a small flathead screwdriver and try to push it out enough for you to take the clip off. I accidentally broke one of my connectors trying to get it loose and had to use the screwdriver to get it out.

If it ends up getting really mangled trying to get it off, a coil pack connector from any 1997+ Neon will work.

this is a case where Junkyards FTMFW

cut, cut, splice. splice, done

Half my injector connectors are broken. I just use a pick to lift the lock on the component end of the connector. even the part you press to release is broken. old brittle plastic FTL!

But the pick/very small screw driver trick should work.

A cps connector may work also, as they are easily plugged into the wrong connector, but I imagine the wire colors would not match, altho you could swap the wiring into the replacment connector.

(If you don't want to cut and splice the wiring, and like struggling with the pin release because you don't have the proper tool. {If you don't have paitence do not attempt.)

wd-40 ftw.. even if the red clip is gone, you can still squeeze the tab and remove the plug, most of my red plug-locks are broken as well, but the connectors still snap into place.
