What's more important to you, handling or appearance? I'd go with coilovers personally.

which means you are already lowered... so it would make sense to go with the rims and then wait for the coilovers.
but on the other hand. if you go with the coilovers, then you could sell the strut/spring combo and get you closer to the rims....
so i guess i didn't help much

Stock 15" rims look like total ass. Rims would be one of the first things i'd buy. It will totally change the way the car looks

None of the above. Leave it stock.
Start saving your cash for one of these...

You might want to get the wheels first so you know for sure if you want to drop it down more.
Personally, I'd just get some beefy 15" tires and sway bars. I'm just a fan of the stock lowered look, kind of undercover.

I have to ask, what's your primary focus of the car? Show, so it's dropped really low? Or performance so it handles great?
If your focus is just show, then I'd suggest putting bags on since you can lower it to the ground if you want, but raise for driveability.
If it's performance then coilovers since granted you can lower your car with coilovers by adjusting the spring perch but technically that's not really there just for adjusting height. That adjustment is there mainly to be able to balance the car by transferring weight by raising and lowering each corner accordingly.
Since you're car is already lowered on a prokit you should be able to pull off getting wheels... if it wasn't I'd lower and then do wheels. Mainly because I think a car looks goofy when it's not lowered and has aftermarket wheels on it.

You bet... and considering I have a several year head start over you I suspect I will be getting mine first.

Go over show every time. Do the coilovers.
If that isn't your cup of tea, buy the most expensive first. That way it won't kill you as long to wait to put together the cash.

ok, say that i choose to go the coilover route...
which ones would you prefer?
i know that bc's and megan's are good.
but what about the k-sports, d2s, mopar(expensive shit i know) and the tein(also expensive)

I notice that it says "plans:turbo" under your user name, yet I don't see that as a choice in this thread. Hmmm...

coilovers. Although you're may be happy now with your drop, those struts aren't going ot last long and you will wind up replacing them somewhere around a year and change. As most say though, do you want looks or performance? Looks go wheels, performance go coilovers. BC's are by far the best to buy for the money. Go to modernperformance.com and they will show you jsut a few of the advantages of getting them over others. Make sure you get the rear camber plates. They will ride wayyyyy better than the spring strut combo as well.

the bc's have their advantages and all but the megan racing ones look exactly the same. and are cheaper, glasswars has them, for about a year or so? maybe less. are there any thoughts about those? D2's are out of the question for me, i have heard too much bad things, not from neon-owners but from others.

they do look the same. only part that isn't clear but may be possible is how the shock adjusts its height. BC's theread into the shock body so you don't lose and travel when dropped real low. No matter what the height you will always have say 4" of travel. From just doing some quick reading, the BC's seem to be better qualitly but are more oriented to a racing/high performance scene. That does not mean you cannot use them on the street.

Coilovers.

There is always someone wanting to buy lowering springs and tokicos...so if you buy the coilovers, you can sell the springs and struts quickly and make about 200-300 back. And then just save a couple more hundred and then you would have enough to buy some rims.

thats good thinking. i just have to save a little more to get the coilovers. like another 150. i think i am going to try out the bc's or megan. those are the two that i have singled it down to.

Don't get get the inverted if you get BC.

whats the difference b/t the two?

On a standard strut the main, heaviest, assembly of the strut is attached to the Knuckle. On the inverted they flipped it around so it's attached to the car. This reducing unsprung weight... however, they do seem to break easily.

ahh, ok stay away from the inverted. i'm kinda leaning on the megans....

love my megans. great for daily driving. and if they can last in new jersey, they can last anywhere.

The people I've been hanging with in the good ol' NW that are running on BC coilovers are using the Inverted, however, these folks actually go and track their cars on a regular basis. None of them have had any "breaking" issues with them short of running their cars into the wall. As such, I got the inverted and haven't had any problems with them. Here is exactly what Modern says about inverted vs. standard:
The INVERTED coilover system from BC differs from the standard coilover, because the strut actually is on top of the coilover, placing the weight on the strut perch. The standard coilover has the strut on the bottom of the coilover, placing weight on the wheel and hub assembly. This is a benefit to road racers, auto crossers, and people who are cornering/handling enthusiasts. The standard coilover works great for 90% of all other SRT-4 drivers.

I wish I had the e-mail on my phone to quote it but I contacted BC about the problem I seem to be having. When I get home I'll see if I can find the e-mail to quote what they told me...
Two times now I've busted one of their inverted coilovers and I've heard of one other person having the same problem. First time they warrantied it just fine. This time they wont' still I'm out of the warranty period. They recommended I go with the non-inverted coilovers since they say they seem to take the road abuse better, however that means spending $400 to switch over the struts. When I pulled the strut off the first time, I only had about 1.5" of travel in the strut before it bottomed out on something soild, metal on metal. I pulled the other strut off to compare and it had over 3" travel. So far it seemed like I'm having the exact same problem as before. I haven't been able to pull the strut off yet to measure it's travel but the noise and feel in the car is identical.
