like...i know its somewhere in the passenger side front of the car but i cannot find it, i wanna change it it sounds like a trumpet and no way is it intimidating. also my alarm is the horn and surely will not scare anyone

You pulled out the bulb wires too, right?

Only the 2 "long ass bolts".

I personally find them easier to get out when pulling on the side closest to the fender first.
It'll looks like the front bumper will break. But it shouldn't (don't trust me on that one).

well...its not the wires its the fact taht it doesnt even move i cant remove the case wires are not te problem! is there another screw somewhere underneath or am i just weak?

Check to make sure your adjustment screws aren't stuck on something. I always had a problem pulling my headlights with the '02 style bumper. You're gonna need to wiggle, twist, yell, and pull. It should come out eventually.

alright ill try to force it out, ill post results of my broken bumper and cracked hedlights later!

What kind of horn are you going to replace it with? I've been interested in changing my horn to a louder one, but I don't want to go with air because of the compressor... although, then I could do an air suspension at the same time!

As said before, the bumper is really flexible. Basically as long as you don't fold it to a crease, you won't damage it. I had to do quite a bit of flexing to get my grille pieces out without pulling everything else apart, and it lived through that no problem.

its a high tone big rig sounds at 132 db, got it from canadian tire lol but it sure beats the pissy trumpet

You're going to have to unbolt all 15 of those question marks in order to get to the horn.

As said before, the bumper is really flexible. Basically as long as you don't fold it to a crease, you won't damage it. I had to do quite a bit of flexing to get my grille pieces out without pulling everything else apart, and it lived through that no problem.

you counted the question marks? lol but yah i have tried flexing it but i cant get a visual on the horn!! i keep pressing the close door button while im under the car to hear the horn but i cant see it!!!! i dont wanna take a part an area and realize that the horn wasnt in there

you won't be able to see it for the washer fluid tank. You might just be able to remove that to get at it, dunno if thats easier for you then removing the headlight.

Where do you plan on mounting the replacement horn? The oem connector, I doubt will work, so why not splice into the wire in the PDC? (as in remove the bottom cover and locate the output from the relay) then either cut it and connect to the new, or just run them both. If you are worried about overloading the oem relay with both, just use the out to power another relay coil for the new horns.

DG/RD wire. It would be easiest to find by looking directly under the horn relay with the bottom cover off. IMHO, this would beat trying to work through the headlight hole. Would be easiest way to return to stock also. Just reconnect, or unhook a wire.

^Your sig picture. On the last picture, you see the big factory air box then right above it the white/green battery. The PDC is on the right side of the battery. You only need to pop the cover out and you'll have access to the relays and some of the car's fuses.

yah i figured tahts what u were talking about but is there a manual i could use that tells me how i could hook up that new horn i bought without removing the old one?

This is very easy to do.

Go to an auto parts store. Pick up a high and a low note horn. They are for generic domestic applications. Using the green wire on your harness, run two wires off of it and connect them to the terminals on the horns (you will need to put some standard spade connectors on the wire of course). The ground is made when the horn is mounted to the body. You can even mount the horns in the same location (stacked on top of each other) using the brackets that come with the horns.

Should look like this when done...



If you are keeping your original horn, just tap into the green (iirc) wire feeding your factory horn and run the new wire to the new horn.

thanks man, i will attempt to do this..do i need to disconenct the battery before doing any work?

Disconnect the battery!
It may need removed to get some working room.

Horn Relay

Since I have this extra for parts, I will use it for reference, instead of having to pull mine apart on the car.
Pry these tabs open all the way around. Then cut the tie wraps - front and back. They should prolly be replaced when done.


Remove the screw, and pry the triangle part from the inner fender. Pop the top off of the lower body. Now flip the connector body over, as best you can.


A couple different views of the wire:




If you have an ATX, there may be another relay next to the horn relay. Just remember the horn relay is the 4th one from the battery side. You can make out the socket positions from the bottom. There is a Dark Green/Orange trace wire in the third socket over. Be careful not to use that one.
You want the Dark Green/Red trace in the 4th socket! There should be a small gap between the 4th and 5th socket, a small gap and then the 6th, 7th, and 8th (Fuel pump) socket.

Hope this helps, it isn't too bad to do this way. You can add a relay where the fan relay is, like I have added - one for my driving lights, and a spare for future use. Those are the larger ones. Just use any uninsulated slide connector. I got mine from a fog light harness. Just pull the soft insulators off, and the terminal pops into place from the bottom. You can do that if you want to use one of those for the air horns. Just splice/tap into the DG/RD wire to trigger the coil of the added relay.

Or you could use either of the red wires in that socket. They both come from the horn switch. But this is only if you are using an additional relay. If not, then just use the DG/RD wire to power them.
