No our folding mirrors have no motors, some early ones are heated though. As for that switch, it wouldn't be that hard to replace the switch we have now with that one... would just require a little cutting.

Yeah my old '01 had heated mirrors. This neon, unfortunately, does not. :hmph:

I can't imagine it'd be too hard to retrofit electric folding mirrors in. Hell, 1.8t A4's used to retrofit 3.0 folding mirrors in and make their own harnesses so they could have them fold out on start up. You'd just have to either: find a UK spec mirror OR find a motor that would both fit in the mirror and have enough power to move the mirror.

The switch wouldn't take much either, since it looks to have similar dimensions to the US spec one.

Just a thought. Folding mirrors aren't that necessary though. :3some:

Like Jenni said, I have them here since three or four years or something, switch(es) and a pair of mirrors.
The switch is definitely longer than the standard. The switch is always fixed with two screws. If you try to get that thing fit, you loose either the upper or the lower screwhole. Shouldn´t be that difficult, but needs a bit more work to get the result nice.

The e-folding mirrors have the mirrorplates changed for lhd-use, so either you like it or you have to change them, too. If I have been watching the wiring correctly, the plug to the mirrors is the same, but with different colour (...) and one or two wires have to be changed to avoid a short and get this thing functioning. At least you have to route additional wires from the passenger side to the drivers side, but that´s fun I think. They are heated, too.

All your "BUX" parts came on every Neon produced between 00-02 in Canada. Definitely not rare. Parts you can still buy from a dealership. Not rare.

I think the first post says it all
If I could just figure out how to meld the Outback and the Neon into one car...

You should never forget:

My Chrysler Neon LX was new ~25000 Euro.
Don't know what the $ was at 2002-2005 - but i guess it was like $35000-40000.
How much did you pay over there for a Dodge Neon if even the SRT was only half the price of my Chrysler Neon?

So IF the Chrysler marketing guys thought that the Americans would also pay so much for a Neon - they had offered that expensive model also in the states.

I am pretty sure that (almost) no American would like to pay 35000 for a Neon only for some little toys like would grain in leather covered doors, black gauges and an ashtray light (and some more little goodies)!

No market = no cars.

BUX Neon was build for a completely different market on a higher level than in the states.

(Dodge = fast and cheap; Plymouth = even cheaper; Chrysler = luxury)

Thats it.

Meh, Cadillac found enough suckers to buy the Cimarron. Basically a Mid eighties Cavalier.

sure - but the SRT was never offered over here.
So it was 20.000$ + ~$5000 transportation + ~$2000 for inspection and neccessary changes + ~25% custom fees and taxes + profit for the dealer...

An options package with the BUX goodies wouldn't have added much to the MSRP here since the car was sold in a much greater volume than the export market (higher volume, lower production cost). Yes, few Americans would have bought the package if it had been available but I sure would have!

I would have gotten it too. I got every other option I could on my '00. Though, having a '00, I do have most of the 'goodies' people are always complaining about Dodge deleting from the later cars.

Oh yea, my car was a bit over $17k, brand new.
