Definitely. At least the head and heater tubes. The block?
It doesn't appear to have been run much, if at all since the head was installed. I would check the head bolts, to see if they are actually torqued. This thing may have just been thrown together for all you know.

The motor is zero miles / never been run Bill. I put oil in the cylinders and the crankcase and manually turned it over, it turns nice and smooth!

now that you know its a 1gn motor it has to go in the NYG

Unless an MTV motor will bolt up to that intake manifold, I'd look into something different for your car. I have a modded mag intake if you're interested.

Does it come with remote control seasons 1 and 2? Or the Real World/Road Rules challenges?

Awesome Ben thanks, and Jerry, considering the history of this motor / manifold, I think it would be a fun motor to drop into the car.
Rumour has it, that this is a mock up engine for the 2GN R/T, which explains the headwork and the block. It was assembled sometime in '99 and the manifold is obviously a hand built one off, of which there are none others around.

Shut up Sean, you're making me hungry.
Chris, If I get a chance tonight, or tomorrow, I'll take a pice of the MTV motor mounting boss. Maybe it will give us an idea of how close this is to the final product.

well it looks like the bolt centers are around 8 cms
and the arm sticks out about 2 cm

the spacing also seems like it would be too wide to even modify a MTV motor to work

Could make an adapter plate, and weld a slot to the shaft for the spring to sit into. That would require removing the throttle shaft from the IM tho. I don't think I would attempt to weld a little stub with a groove on there with in in the aluminum body. Something could be bolted to the arm to line up with the shaft, but that would take a little work too. Might be easier than removing 4 plates to slide the shaft out tho. Actually just an elongated piece with a slot in it, so the spring end will seat in there, and there would be enough to screw it to the lever. It's not like it takes much force to turn.

Whats that Chris? Your sending me the intake manifold to add to my collection of rare parts
Nice find as usual, thats definately a nice looking intake manifold!
As others have mentioned, the mtv will not work on that intake. I bet they used a manual actuator on that so they can test flow at various rpms manually actuated.....
And the head I bet is a prototype head to see what the non-magnum head can flow ported....
I'm wondering what pistons are inside that beast...
If this is a magnum prototype engine, i'm wondering if that block is a 1gn dual block with raised pistons in it.....
Hell, I'm wondering what kinda cam is in that thing also......
Now bring that thing to my work and give it to me

Chris: Pull off the cam sensor, and see what is etched into the cam. I'm willing to bet is a Mopar Performance cam (95 cam I believe).

Pull the cam sensor, and you may have to pull the cam magnet, see if any numbers are etched into it. It should say P5007030.

Hmm. maybe cooler. Random combo ground into the side. Will post a cell pic in a second.
Ugh. That picture sucks, I will go open it up again and write the numbers down.
Okay, so whoever scribed this in needs less shaky hands lol.
Top line reads A or B or P (looks mostly like B or P) 4777128
Bottom Line reads S4I290

Found this on .org, via google.
neons.org wrote:However, Chrysler put a different cam in the 96 SOHC motor. It's 4777128 and it has about .175" to .180" of lift at the lobe for the intakes and about .178" to .191" for the exhausts. Most of these cams have a series of two to six punch marks stamped around the perimeter of the flange that's right behind the back journal on the cam.
Nothing really special I don't think. May be a stockish cam. I'd put a comp400 in that beast if I was you.

On one hand I want to do a few things to make it a little more fun, but on the other hand, I want to keep it in the same unique condition I got it in...
I still have the nickel plated MP short tube header I got from Mancini last year that I will likely toss on there too! I will have to Youtube the Comp 400, does it have any lump to it at all?

Sounds like it's probably got a 95/mopar cam in it to me.

4777128 = 1996 through 2005 ECB camshaft. I don't believe there are any PN's stamped into the end on the normal cam. Why waste another step in production for your most common cam? They may have just engraved it for clarification of which cam they put in there.

Well I own this motor now. Pulled the cam out tonight , just a plain 96- 05 cam. Its has purple stripes all around , I got excited until I pull the magnet and expected it. Was thinking it might be a specail "purple shaft" like the mopar V8 cams.
Oh well it will be geTting replaced with the comp 400

I would leave it alone. it was the only one put together that way. did you check lift and duration of the cam to be sure that it wasn't different? maybe that was a generic part number at the time of testing. That cam could be the reason for chrysler to go with that cam from 96-05 or could be the reason for the differant cam in the r/t. I think its unique and should remain as found.

It is just slapped together from random parts. There is nothing to really prove it was ever meant for anything. The IM is prolly the only part that's truly worth it's weight, and it is no longer with the engine.
It is basically a pre '00 block with a rebuild, and a ported SOHC head. Not even an R/T head.

Yeah canada won't give up the intake manifold , so I basically got a good deal on a BNIB crate motor , and a comp 400
This will be making its way into my new R/T
