So for a while now Ive been noticing that as I'm driving and I come to a stop say at a light or stop sign, and my foot is on the brake, as I'm sitting there my car has been, best way to put it is that its stuttering, the pedal shakes with the whole car. It will do this a few times then stop, then it will do it again.

My car is an auto just fyi, and it only does it when its in 1st, 3rd or drive.

If the car is idling in park its just fine

Wondering if anybody has had this happen before, maybe somethings going bad, fuel filter, fuel pump, plugs, i dunno

any help would be awesome, tried to explain it as best as possible

Basically the IAC/PCM is not keeping the engine idling high enough while in gear. It may need cleaned. Check to see if it smooths out by turning the steering wheel.

This is a fairly common issue. But removing the IAC motor from the TB, and cleaning it with some carb cleaner, and/or removing the TB and cleaning it with a soap based cleaner are the first steps in attempting to get a bit more idle speed. Do not use carb cleaner on the plastic TB.

Your torque struts could also be worn, letting the engine tilt enough so the vibrations seem worse. If it starts stalling at stops, then it is definitely an IAC motor issue.

Yeah, its common.. Nothing wrong with it, just do what Bill said and you should be golden.

FYI: If you don't like the shaking, don't buy motor mount inserts

drilled a 1/8" hole in my stock throttle plate to fix that, Worked great.

the motor mount inserts take away the spongyness of the stock rubber mount. So they no longer absorb small vibrations like they used to.

Iac is the cylinder attached to the top of the throttle body. Has a single connector off the end closest to the motor.

Is your AC or defrosters on when this happens? it draws a bit of power from the engine causing it to drop some.

Mine does this too. For a while it was really bad, so I reset the computer and it was fine. Now it's back but not bad. Good call on the IAC tho, I'm going to try that.

its really annoying

For old car it's totally normal. Mine shakes a lot sometimes during idle, and if you have the motor mount insert it will shake even stronger since it transfers the vibration to the frame.

Mine does this also. I fix it by puttin it in neutral and back into drive when at a stop. If I don't do this the car idles really rough at stops.

Actually sometimes I just roll down the power window and they seem to like telling the engine to give more power to the electric system and engine just rev a little bit higher after that...
