Interior light problems

Post by th3magpi3 » Thu Jul 08, 2010 9:36 pm

Hey guys. I'm new to the forums and just wanted to ask a quick question. I wired in my subs and amps to the stock stereo yesterday and now my interior light will not turn off. I unplugged the bulb so it wouldnt fry my battery but i dont know why the light is staying on. The setup I used was a power cable running through the grommet in the drivers side and then through the back seats. I grounded the amps to the bolt in the middle of the spare tire. The rca's going into the amps were made by splicing into the rear speakers. I have no idea why my light wont turn off but any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Well, first welcome to the forum. It sounds pretty well "Appalachian engineered" but go back and check the wires did you tie into something that shouldn't have constant power?

Also check the switch that turns the light on... I've done that before

What did you use for your remote wire?

normally it turns off after a few minutes even if the doors are open or the multiswitch dial is turned to the domelight position - if not you connected something wrong!

I just attached the remote wires to a rocker switch connected to 12v power. And I can't imagine what I might have hooked it up to that would cause this. I didn't mess around with any other wiring.
