something different

Post by Gnuserup » Sat Sep 04, 2010 2:29 pm

As I have been working on a couple of things on my neons (e.g. making both seats manually height adjustable :) ), I was wondering, if anybody has the following differences from the neons how they are sold here in germany:

Multifunctionswitch without any foglight-switch-position

[NSW is front foglight, NSL is rear foglight]

Because here in Europe, especially in germany, the car must have a rear foglight, so the MFS has at least minimum the rear-foglight-position.

I made a picture of the MFS I got here -

Does anybody know how to disassemble the Stick without breaking it ? It would of interest for maybe enabeling the rear-foglight-function at the original us-MFS for free. If you want to know more about that, feel free to ask :D

Other thing is if there is any neon on the road with power windows, but without power mirrors, so that the bezel has only the power-window-switches, but not the power-mirror-switch.

Because I like original parts, it would of interest, if that kind of bezel ever has originally been used on a 2nd. I thought about getting the power-mirror-switch away from the door-panel.

Unmöglich, ich hab es versucht!

There is no way - you see the metal pin at the end of the stick?
It is pressed in and there is no way to remove it - or you have to drill a hole in that piece.
And than it looks like shit.

That is just an idea for making my power retractable mirrors usable  The switch for the powered folding is a bit bigger than the original one is, either I have to cut out the original bezel or putting the switch to anywhere else. Unfortuanatelly the original switch with its bezel is uk - means for the right hand drive door panel...

Only thing you can do is separate the wiper module from the turn signal and foglight switch stalk. You can dis-assemble the wiper module easy, but there's nothing you can do in there really. I would assume the signal stalk is the same way once you get the rivits out.

 But I was hoping, that special bezel would be available as an original part. And if making the hole bigger, the second screw will get lost and so on...
