Pulled my plugs today (lunchtime) cuz of you guys. Damn you. I forgot I was cheap last time I changed the oil (put in Champion Paltinums) and they look as fried as the attached pic. Monument Auto @ 5pm is where I'll be today.

no the v-powers do not come pre gapped. multi electrode plugs are the ones that cant be gapped. maybe platnums in general. iirc the v-powers were close to stock gap.

what i meant was that the gas is not guarenteed to be right. they are close but mine were off by a few thousands i think. whether or not that would have effected anything i dont know but im not going to find out.

I checked all mine and they were like .025-.030 so I adjusted them to .035. I noticed When I changed my valve cover, that the spark plugs are way the hell down there. (Never saw spark plugs before) Whats your ratchet set-up you guys use? And do you need that anti-seize compund shite that goes on the threads?

I put the anti-seize on just incase(only like $1 form the parts store in a simple throw away pouch). I just use an extension on the 3/8's ratchet. I believe it is about 6"-8" long. Be sure to use a spark plug socket though. That way you can pull them out from the hole. I think the socket is a 5/8's.

Thanks for the great info Brian! I also found out it doesn't have to be exactly .035 gapped. It can be between .033-.038. I always thought the gap had to be precise, I guess not. Yeah the anti-seize compund will insure that the spark plugs do not seize the aluminum cylinder head. I learn something everyday. :)

i use a ratchet, 6" extension, a 5/8" deepwell socket, a 5/8" spark plug socket and the longest pair of needle nose pliars i have.

the sparkplug socket is for removing and putting them back in, the pliars are to remove the sparkplugs socket because the rubber grips to the plug very well. and the deep socket is to double check tightness. i just started using a torque wrench to check tightness because i am too concerned with overtightening the plugs.
