ImageLeft side going into my upper pressure pipe. I plan on relocating it (IAT sensor) higher up so its AFTER my Water/Meth nozzle and the computer can adjust timing so I can get more power with the cooler temps.

Its a 1/4'' bung with a -28 tread pattern. I looked everywhere online and I can't find a 1/4'' bung with a -28 tread pattern. Needs to be aluminum. Thanks.

did you try mcmaster carr? If nothing else you can buy the tap and i can machine you a fitting.

Are you sure it's not a 1/8 pipe thread? The hole would be close to 1/4, as the I.D is 1/8 for pipe sizes. 1/8-27 is 1/8 pipe, so it is close. I would get a 1/8 pipe nipple to double check it. Might save you some searching.

Edit: Nevermind, so much for thinking off the top of mt head. 1/8 pipe is about 3/8 od, 1/4 id. You might try Mc Master for a 1/4-28 aluminum nut, or like hybrid-Srt2001 said make a bung. I have the tap, and could prolly make you one. I would just need the o.d. of the bung.

Sending you a PM Bill!

So would any 1/4 inch bung work? I don't udnerstand the -28 part. Is that regarding the sensor threads and not the bung?

Yes, the "-28" is the threads per inch.

Ahh gotcha.

Also looking at my pipe, I am going to be plugging that sensor where it is and relocating it. The question is, where to relocate it.. You think having it too close to the BOV will alter anything? I wouldn't think so since its closed during boost of course.

I don't think it would have any effect, as it only reads temperature, and the air is exiting at the BOV, not entering, so it would not cool it with incoming air.

Edit: you will need to get a 1/4-28 set screw in stainless or anodized aluminum to plug the old bung, Unless you are having it welded shut. I would shy away from a steel set screw, as it may rust and become permanent. I would also use loc-tite 242 on the set to keep it from falling into the tube. Or you could just use a 1/4-28 bolt too.

Cut off what you need, weld it on. These are for control rods but it would probably work for you.

Yeah it works great. Threaded the sensor into it just to make sure. Now I need to go out to Bucyrus sometime and have my buddy drill and weld the fitting onto my pipe.

Still looking for opinions on it being worth it to have the IAT after the nozzle, so computer see's lower temps. I still need to make sure its spraying properly.

You may still want to pick up a 1/4-28 tap, in case it gets a little melted welding it in. I made it a bit heavy in the wall thickness, but it can't hurt to have the tap handy if the threads get a little messed up.

Not knocking his welding abilities at all, but as we know, sh, stuff happens.
