i guess i should have said what its made of. it is made of approx 3 ft each of 3/8 fuel line and 1/2 heater hose. i was a little worried about the vacuum collapsing them but i checked a few times and there is a strong vacuum at the pcv valve. i made a little bracket out of stainless to mount the actual separator. ive got about $20 - $25 in this and it appears to work. there is a little more in it now after 100 total miles. it will be interesting to see how much it gets in a week (~500 miles)
does anyone know where i can get 3/8 and 1/2 vacuum line at a reasonable price?

i have some pics i can post fo ra how-to its just that the server i down loaded the pics is down so i cant get them.
its quite simple, i ended up taking that lil white plastic filter off in the inside.
its made of a water filter for the air compressores. and some crank case hose..it works.

I made one after realizing my new P+P mag intake had oil sitting in it after a few hundred miles. After adding it for a good 600+ miles, i took it off. Didnt put nearly the amount of oil i expected and i figured it really wasnt hurting anything at the rate it was going.

its not hard to make at all. the only piece that took time was the little piece of stainless that holds the unit. if you cant see the bracket is attached by that body bolt. i tapped the holes on the separator 10/32 and used allen head screws. the separator is a very soft metal so stripping the holes is easy. i did one a little, bottomed out. but put some loctite in there and it should hold.

why such a long hose, when the connection points are very close to each other?
couldn't you have mounted your air/oil separater near the battery instead?

i'm cornfused

when i was figuring out where to put it i looked all over the engine bay. i didnt think there was enough room to mount the separator solidly around the battery and easily empty the bowl. (without removing the separator) i like to have things mounted solidly, not flapping around. i dont have much time to be removing and installing this thing and the threads are so weak that i dont know how many times the screws can be put in and taken out.

looks good, a lot of space is freed up when that air box is taken out.

Thats what I put on my R/T....I stripped the silver paint off though and polished the catch can. I had the setup you guys are posting above, but it did not totally remove the oil. Oil was still getting into my magnum manifold. With the catch can installed, I have not gotted a drop of oil in the manifold yet. Its a simple design when I took this thing apart, but for what they charge its not worth trying to make one....

This is a link to the supplier I got mine from...no hassles whatsover...

When it comes to this universal catch can, its not automotive model specific.Like I said, I got the kit and first thing I did was looked at the quality of this item. I could not build one any cheaper...well I probably could but for the price, it was not worth the hassle...

I got one like half-twisted but with a mounting bracket through Grainger. With the filter removed, it catches a bit of oil. My car has never blown much oil though. Mine is mounted just where half-t's is. I have no photobucket so no pics for you!

I removed my intake within the past month to give someone my MTV and ther is NO oil in the intake. The air/water seperator still got oil into my intake. And thats with a fresh shortblock from august. As I stated before, from what it costs, time, money, materials. The link I posted is the best bet. Unless someone comes out with something cheaper...

When the 2.0 SOHC neon goes into a right hand turn, the oil under the valve cover gets splashed over to the pcv valve and gets sucked into the intake manifold. This in turn gets hot oil sucked into the intake. Its not really a performance gain HP wise, its more of a way to keep contaniments out of the intake.
The SRT guys have it worse though..lol, I know someone with a 4k mile SRT4 bitching about oil in his intercooler hoses. Same scenario as above. But personally I never looked at an SRT PCV setup, I think there's is plumbed to the inlet side of the turbo..im not sure.
