My engine is clanging!
I had my tti long tube installed yesterday and I don't know if this has anything to do with it, but I was just looking under my hood to look at the new header. While I was reving the engine via the throttle body I could hear a clanging coming from the engine, or at least from somewhere down there. The wasn't cold, and I couldn't exactly pin point where it was coming from. I tried putting my ear down to the engine to get a better idea where the sound was originating, but to no avail.

Anyway if I rev the engine say 1000 rpm's I can hear this "clanging" coming from the engine, but it's not constant. It stops after about 2 sec after reving the engine. Anyone have any ideas? Please tell me this is normal or that it's going to be really cheap. (No cel by the way).

you can narrow it down to which cylinder by using something like a broom stick. place on end in your ear and the other on the engin.... go from cylinder to cylinder.

is it more of a tapping noise not like chattering but like piston slap......I have a scope and my car makes some pretty shitty noises when warm so I checked each valve with my scope but came up empty handed.......I put my car on a lift and checked every inch of my block with no outcome.......I can not find where the noise is coming from.......the only thing that I can think now is that is is a bolt loose somewhere but I just cant find it
