Does this look normal?

Been looking for an SRT donor, and I came across this one.

39K miles

They say it runs. Obviously not drivable.

My concern is the engine bay...

It could just be the angle the picture is taken at...but does it look a little...off? Like, pushed up and to the left?

If so...should I be concerned? I know things are going to be shifted when a car has front end damage. But is there anything major that may be damaged from the looks of it?

Does this look normal?

I agree with you that the engine looks to be pushed back and to the left. Since it appears it was hit a bit harder on the right side that would seem normal. The gap between the v/c and cai looks to be smaller than normal, so I would think the engine is moved. Without being there and looking at the car, my take on things is that the motor is fine unless the alternator has hit the firewall and bad things happened to the mount holes.

Looks fine to me. Looks more like it hit something down low.

Hope that you can salvage it. That front end is depressing me. :crybaby:

I'm gonna try! I'll know by the end of the week if it's mine!

It looks like the coil pack is almost touching the firewall  If so, check it over carefully.

Oh, and I call dibs on the rear bumper

I'll be taking deposits for all dibs.
Did I mention they're non-refundable?

That's nothing. My oil pan was pushed into the steering rack. My motor should run, being the block or nothing else was cracked. We'll find out soon enough.

The tranny mount might be broken. Usually in hard front hits like that its the first thing to break. My donor was hit on the front passneger side and it pushed the engine over so hard that it snapped the mount in half. The bolts where still in the tranny undamaged but the mount itself was finished.

I would be very nervous about cracks in the block, or mounting tabs, etc...

Look it over well, and hopefully it works out for you.

Man I wish these cars would show up around here. There's NOTHING for SRTs (or 2nd gens in general) in scrap yards.

I've given up looking through scrap yards :/
I'll probably end up finding one through an auction like the white one.

So....the white one sold. Hopefully someone will bring it back to life!

All the "dib" deposits have been spent already. Please try again next time.

I actually didn't pursue it. It was far too short notice for me.
I've got my eye on a red one that will go up for auction next month.
10K more miles, but the interior is cleaner, and the car looks bone stock! Well...it did before the wreck :P

I'm a lot more confident about this one. I'll have a bit more fundage by then, and i've got a friend lined up with a trailer for if I do win the auction.
Cross your fingers for me!
