Does anyone know the approximate weight of an engine and ATX assembly out of an 01? This is for a fully dressed assembly including the alternator, P/S pump, compressor, manifolds etc.

Is this just for shipping purposes? I would put in an educated guess of 420lbs.
Reason? I had to ship an older 2.2L turbo engine including manifolds, turbo, and accessories, but no transmission. That weighed in at 321lbs. Figure the 2.0L bottom end is likely heavier (bedplate design as opposed to just main caps on the 2.2L), but it doesn't have a turbo hanging off of it. Same basic configuration (cast iron block, aluminum head, aluminum intake, cast crank, etc.), tack on about 100lbs for a manual transmission, and voila... 420lbs approximately.
EDIT: Grr, I just saw that you said ATX (I saw your screenname and got R/T stuck in my head). So, the transmission will be probably 50lbs heavier, but with a plastic intake manifold and plastic valve cover, it will take some of that away.
Call it 450lbs. Again, just an educated guess based on similar past experience.

Yeah I just bought another Neon cheap, it came with the high performance ventilated oil pan.
My carport has a steel I beam running down the center and I'm looking to install a beam trolley and chain hoist to pull the engine/ trans. I figured if the combo is not much more than 500lbs, I shouldn't have to worry to much about causing any damage.... or bringing the roof down.
Thanks for the info...

An atx trans is about 40 lbs heavier than an mtx trans. Still 450 is a pretty good guess. I use the 1/4 ton option on my hoist when I pull my motor and trans out of my 1gn with no problem. Only reason I do that is because I makes the arm longer.

Compaired to a Jeep 4.0 engine and trans...light.
But yeah, Id say 450 lbs. I doubt it would bring down a carport I beam. If it does run like hell, cut your losses, and move.

Bull Shit, Jerry. We all know you "Man" it out of there. Then you jump in, and show it what real power is.
