:laughing3:

i'd also add a piece in there under octane ratings for those select individuals living outside the US who deal with different octane rating scale than we do, i see this confusion all the time in posts.

It depends.
"Your results may vary" depending upon climate / season, local gasoline quality, geographic location, type of driving (local vs. interstate), age of the engine / engine condition, etc.

For example, you may find that you get better MPG's on an interstate trip with 91 octane in hot weather; but better MPG in cold winter weather, with 87.
There can be many different variables.

ok. but will the 91 octane harm my vehicle? im not too worried about abut mpg. cause even if i "drive it like i stole it" and dont shift until 5k, i still get about 20mpg. which isnt bad. i just dont want to do anything to mess this engine up. i love this little car and hope to keep her running for a very long time.

No harm will come from running 91 octane. (Or 93, for that matter)
The only ill effect is that the engine might take a bit longer to start - Especially in cold weather.

If anything - If you drive the car hard, it is probably better to run 91, as added insurance !! I would.
