'01 R/T Fog Light Bulb Replacement - 10W Fuse????

Post by skibum0607 » Fri Dec 30, 2005 2:50 pm

I went to the parts store to get replacement bulbs for my fog lights ('01 R/T) and the lowest wattage 9145 bulb they had was 40W. The fog light fuse is only 10W. I know they make higher wattage 9145 bulbs but I can't find any that are lower than 40W and certainly not 10W.

Anybody know why? Can I just replace the fuse with a 40+W and be OK?

I thought fuses were measured in amperage. So that would really be 10 amps. wattage=volts x amperage. that means that fuse could handle like 120 watts at 12 volts.

that fues is fine. just get some nice 40W bulbs for the foglight. now if you want to go higher then u will need to upgrade ur wiring so u dont fry it. But the 40W bulbs will be fine a that 10A fuse.
