18, full coverage, bad driving record, Turbo car...
Nope, not going to happen for cheap.
Sad reality is you are better off waiting.
When I bought my first NSRT...my payment was $400 a month and my insurance was damn close to that.
You are honestly better off buying a SRT-4 motor setup and swapping it in your car.

lol speak for yourself, my insurance is clean.
i'm just paying large amounts of money because children don't know
how to drive... seems a bit unfair to me

This. I can't be added as a driver on my daughter's car without her paying $360/year additional, because idiots run into me. I have "non at fault claims" which somehow makes me a risk.
I am a bad person, because I don't let "at fault's" insurance get off without paying.
Yes, life isn't fair.

I hate non faults. I hit a massive pothole in MD back when I owned my first Neon. It was dark and raining and you could not see the pothole at all. It destroyed my tire and wheel. Insurance covered the replacement of all my wheels with OE wheels since my 17" Enkei wheels were DC'd. Nice.
Till it came time to renew and my premium was higher. No one said anything about non fault claims at the time. Not fair indeed.
/OT rant

John, you're too much like my parents.. i strongly dislike you because
you bring me back to reality. you're the one who always makes me
realize that im not always making the smartest decision. so its like
a love/hate relationship..
and damn it isn't that true. life really isnt fair. the way i see it, i work
my ass off, i follow rules, and i'm an obedient person who doesn't
snap back in every debate. i take very well care of my cars. shit, i
check my oil and tires more often than my parents do. i've had less
engine/transmission/electrical problems with my car than my
parents even. thats because i care for my car. so don't i
deserve just something a little better than a hail damaged beater?
i can handle this srt. i know how to hold back from the temptation
of seeing how fast i can really go. i know exactly how to maintain
the car, how to drive the car, how to park the car, how to wash
the car, how to look at the car, and i respect the car by taking it
easy on the roads and even driving like an old person if need be.
in traffic, i ALWAYS stay at least 2 car lengths behind the person
in front of me, so what the hell am i doing wrong!? why am i suffering
for some other immature person's problems? why can't i just simply
drive the freaking car without everyone demanding so much from me?
its stoopid, and i hate it. i deserve this car. i did nothing wrong. so
as much as i hate to admit it, i'm keeping the car the way its
financially sitting right now. if some illegal immigrant runs a stop
sign and fucks me over, so be it. at least i've had my fun..
/rant. i'm gonna go cut my wrists.

Put storage insurance on the SRT.
It is dirt cheap, and it will be covered.

this is too much of a financial risk ... like going to the casino with your rent and grocery money

<3 you too ithane.
I wasn't implying you were irresponsible. You seem like a very responsible young adult and that's why I was surprised when I read you are driving it with liability only. Just takes one wrong move and you'll be paying for that SRT for years to come while driving just the black neon. =/

screw the black car.. i still love my sxt, but why drive the black car if i'm
paying a loan for the blue car?
what do i do?

i don't want to sell the black car cuz its my baby, and
i really don't want the neon curse.
is there some kind of ritual to lift the curse?

sorry silver.r/t. i'm done jacking your thread. i'll take my pity emotions
elsewhere. as for fairness, i'm not sure how you think its so unfair for
yourself. i mean, it kind of is your fault you've got those speeding
tickets.. and honestly, i respect the fact that you work 60 hours a
week. i wish i had your schedule.
good luck finding your srt. hopefully you won't have to park it like me

and i blame nobody but myself for them but it was 2 tickets... not like i get pulled over once a month or anything... people make mistakes i was in a hurry. shouldve left earlier but obviously i didnt therefore i sped oh well its in the past. ill figure it out.
Thane: just a quick fyi 60-70 hours a week and being a full time student isnt fun haha

oh hell, school is going to work around my work schedule, yo. i'm only
taking classes as i can afford to pay for them in whole and only if the
classes don't mess with my work schedule. yeah it'll take a while, but
at least i'm going
and back on topic: why don't you try posting a wanted add on CL?
let the srt come to you, young grasshopper.

ithane,
My best advice is to sell the black car. It's a regular SXT and you have a neon srt-4 now. If you can't afford both, I seriously don't see the point in keeping the black one.
Sell the SXT, put that money towards insurance.
Problem solved.

Don't tempt fate- change a stop sign to a traffic signal and this is
exactly how I lost my '02 SY SXT.

I'm too lazy to go back and read about your finances but, to be honest, I wish that I had kept my '04 E-Blue SXT to use as a DD while the SRT slept in my garage. But I didn't, the SRT was used as a DD, got in an accident last year and now has (unrelated) rust issues from daily driving.[/off-topic]

Good luck in your search, that first one was definitely overpriced and the second one was taken down by the time I looked on the link. The guys above are right, patience is key....take me for example...I was ready to buy one from WI in blue with 60k miles on it for $13,000 because it was in good condition and completely clean....decided against it. Waited a couple months and found my beauty only an hour away in VA with 16k miles on it and a chrysler tech owned it, so I know he took good care of it. $12k----totally worth it, it has been garaged all of its life and when John and Juan came over to help me work on it, they were speechless at how all the parts were in such good condition...not one ounce of rust on the underbody.
Keep looking!

dont forget driving record is not the only factor in insurance. they also check for lapses in coverage, length of coverage, they also use your credit score as well. i pay 35$ a month for full coverage, but have decent credit, and never been in an accident. ive had 4 tickets in my life, last ticket was 12+ years ago for speeding.

if you really want cheaper insurance you can always get married! hahaha! mine went down $100 a month when i got married!
like rawkbunny said patience is a virtue. i wish i hadnt been so hasty when i bought my srt. i prob couldve found one that was a little nicer to begin with, but hey fixed all the wrong shit and now i love it
