Whats it worth?

Looking at what I believe to be a stock 02 R/T tommorow.

140K supposed to be clean in and out.

What should the car go for realistically ,not some KBB value.

Other than the normal K frame rust, rocker panels ( hard to see with skirts ) , sunroof, low oil levels, rattling transmissions @ cold startup and apparently trunk leaks added to my list what else should I look out for?

Oh lets add possible fire potential at blinker switches, saw that plug on R/T I stripped.

Am I missing anything? More ammunition might = lower price or me laying down till the feeling of buying another car goes away depending on the things I find on this one. The more the merrier.

At 140 thousand, ask for proof the timing belt/tensioner/water pump has been changed. Most folks see the price for having this done at a garage, and sell/trade in.

Realistically, insurance will only pay out $1500 to $2500 for it if it was totaled. 10 year old car with over 100K they don't shell out much. If it was lower mileage, they would pay better. If you are looking at it as a parts car, take that into account for what you're willing to pay.

If the asking price is outrageous, and they have no proof of the timing components being changed, I would knock $700 off the price right there. They don't need to know you can do it yourself.

Good idea, asking price is 2k so it's in middle range. I'm thinking it might be cheaper than to clip half my car and replace all panels. materials and paint will run me close to 2k.

Allright, I checked it out. Both quarters have rust and some hack body work going on, pass door has surface rust.

Car has 128K.

Engine bay looks neglected.

Kframe had minimal rust which was surprising.

Rocker panels seemed ok

Trunk had a pool.

Shifter bushing are just about ready to fall apart.

Interior wasn't bad for mileage, little wear on shifter.

Car is bone stock.

It ran smooth, had something going on with suspension vibration wise though when I hit about 50.

I offered 1500 they said 1600 I walked away.....

Someone else wants it have fun and enjoy.

Other cars I have looked at. This one they don't know what they have really other than a low mileage R/T with some extra parts that they have no clue what they do......

http://boston.craigslist.org/sob/ctd/2773877789.html

This one has a INDY intake, fast fabs header, UDP, K&N CAI, mopar performance ECU. I'm fairly certain that the loping idle is due to cams ;). I'd be willing to bet the bottom end is done up to.

They pulled the wideband gauge..........so they could install 02 sensors back in.

Immaculate inside and out. I know they will take $3000 cash......under that well I offered 2500.....they still have it.

Another one I found intersting, didn't know orange blast made it into stock SXT's. Sharp car but overpriced IMO.

I've seen the white R/T on craigslist for a while now and was curious to what is wrong with it. Seems to be a fair price but I haven't looked at it.

I saw this one today, and since it seems you are looking for a car, this doesn't sound to bad either.

No pictures but couldn't hurt to look at it.

Wow, I would buy that one and restore it to OEM if I had the cash. Sweet.

The white R/T was garaged all it's life and is just as immaculate as the ad on craigs list claims.......unlike so many other ads on cragslist. I went through the entire car. I guess if you pulled all the mods you could get a fair chunk of change back.
