Is there a way to copy the neon key... like at walmart that copies keys for not much money... also will this key work to turn on the car or only to open doors.. if so is there a way to make the neon not use the immobilizer chip on the key?
thanks

since your car is an r/t it was equipped with a skim immobilizer system. because of that you cant just go to walmart and get your keys done, they can cut it, but you cant use it untill you program the key. (walmart also doesnt sell the key) you have to buy the key either through a dealer or ebay, or if you're lucky a jy. if you only have 1 key already programmed to the car, you have no choice but to have a dealer program the new key. If you have 2 keys already programmed to the car then you can program a new key by yourself. LMK which is your situation
also the only way you can dissable the skim system is to get a different (non skim) ecu and put it in, you'll also need to remove the skim module.

the rt car only came with one key the owner apparently did not have the other...so my only option is to have a dealer program it?

looks like I will only be using one key then....so just curious how would you program it if you had two keys and wanted a third?

Walmart does do SKIM keys, for $59.99
If the person doing it has enough brains to even cut it correctly. It's a sad day when they can't even get it right by plugging it into their machine. I had one cut the other day, just as a door key, and it was so messed up, you knew by looking it wasn't going to work.
