wrecking yard question

Post by whynot » Wed Dec 18, 2013 7:22 pm

I need a jack and lug wrench for my car before my trip after the first of the year.
How do I tell if a jack can be used on my car, if I can find one in the JY.

Thanks
Doug

It will come out of a neon. They're pretty well the same across the board for most cars, dodge, Plymouth, or Chrysler. The one in my coupe is the same as the 3 in my garage from a stratus, intrepid, and an 00 neon

They are OK if you have a piece of heavy flat stock steel or aluminum to put under them. Unless you never plan on a flat other than concrete or asphalt. I wouldn't trust them on soft dirt or grass. But then I wouldn't trust any jack on soft dirt or grass without something under it.

The stock scissors jack is pretty convenient with a 3/4 socket and a decent battery drill.

they are not common in the car here, they seem to be pulled. But I have found them on occasion.
So the hunt begins, and I need some items for the 1G that I need to get on the road.

I will look at all dodge/chrysler cars/minivans.

thanks

Depends on how long you are willing to make your $ back. The trick is finding things you know ppl want, and are willing to pay for, plus finding the balance on price that makes it worth your effort, and appealing to neon owners.

There is a guy on the .org that lives in Cali, that pulls stuff off neons in the JY and sells it on there. Most of it is the tougher to find items, rust free, and very reasonable pricing/shipping. I almost feel guilty paying some of his prices.

Then why not give it a shot???
You won't know if you don't try. Believe me, I've sold some pretty strange stuff on eBay that I was very surprised to see sell.
