OEM Mopar manually retractable antenna on eBay
Your cable assembly looks like it would actually fit the regular US fixed antenna. Anyone here care to comment?
I'm going to try and head to the main Chrysler parts warehouse in Tel Aviv today and ask them to show me the mast and assembly they have in stock for the 2001 Neon. I want to put an end to this madness!!!

Thank you! The sad thing is that I thought that I had found someone who might be able to locate oddball BUX parts for me (I could already count on Jenni and Gnuserup but there is no such thing as too many people to source your parts).MichNeon wrote:I've been watching this whole thread, and now decided to comment.
Midnight, my sympathies for what you had to go thru with that guy.
I had been wondering that myself. If you're right, it is too late for me to return it to the seller in Germany for a refund.moe8555 wrote:Your cable assembly looks like it would actually fit the regular US fixed antenna.
That would be great! I would be interested in buying for my car if they still have the parts available.moe8555 wrote:I'm going to try and head to the main Chrysler parts warehouse in Tel Aviv today and ask them to show me the mast and assembly they have in stock for the 2001 Neon. Yours is completely different from mine (part number 04793961AE).
Tell them that you have parties interesting in buying their parts and maybe they will sing a different tune.moe8555 wrote:I have a feeling they won't like me taking pictures of the parts, but I'll try my best.

If it is, I see no way of mating the antenna to the base. I hope that moe8555 has good news for us after he visits the Tel Aviv dealership.r/tguy02 wrote:thats a good thing then because mine is def for a fixed mast. hopefully yours is for the retractable one gramps

To the right of the antenna- what is the middle part of the three black pieces? Is this the same thing that we have on ours but painted black (ours are "chrome" or bright molded)? The part that requires the special Chrysler tech tool to remove?Jenni wrote:

Thanks for the response but now I'm really puzzled. Domestic Neons (as opposed to BUX ones) have a locking nut that is chromed- is this what you refer to as the screw? Would I be able to reuse it under the big plastic part as you say? I didn't get the part I asked about in the pieces that Gnuserup sent to me.

Well, I finally ended up dragging myself to the dealer.
Unfortunately, I don't have any "good news" to share. The part was out of stock.
They offered to order it, which would take 2 weeks.
They refused to order it and let me see it before purchasing...
I think I'm going to just convert to US/domestic fixed antenna. I already have the fixed mast that I accidentally bought, so I think I'll just pick up the base as well and be done with it.
Sometimes "being special" isn't always worth the headache
Did you end up getting the BUX antenna installed and working?
