Overheat when sitting at idle

Post by wolfdemon268 » Thu Jun 28, 2018 5:14 pm

Okay guys so recently I got the cooling system flushed and pressure checked, shop said it was 80% blocked but that they were able to clear it out. They said pressure checked out as well. Fast forward to now, since it started to get really hot where I live (consistent 80-100+ days with index) the car will run hot if I'm sitting in traffic. Upper hose is hot and firm. Tstat is new and as said before system was flushed and doing fine. 2 months ago was when the flushing happened. Coolant level is full it's not losing any. And oil isn't milky. Anyone have any ideas?

Is the fan kicking on? How hot is it running - almost full temp, or just higher than normal?

If the fans are working as they should then it's maybe your water pump is just weak and not flowing enough.
