My lovely little intro

Hey guys, hows it going?
As you can see, this is my first post here on 2gn.org, and after about 5 months of browsing between here and neons.org I decided id finally get off my lazy butt and register here.. seems like there is more personality here then 'the other .org'anyways.
I dont have any of those annoying first time post questions that have been answered 150 times and could of been found by using the handy search feature, but i do seem to share what everybody else here has and thats a common love for our cars.
I purchased my neon about five months ago ( Electric Blue 05 SXT standard 5 speed transmission) after driving a well modded '97 2gnt eclipse for a year. (Ya know.. the whole eclipse with the 420A engine, which was the same engine used in those lovely first gen neons.) I loved my eclipse, the first car I had the pleasure of modding, but even considering it was a family owned car, it was still getting up there in miles, and random things were starting to break, so I decided it was time to move on.
*Anyways, thats my lovely little intro. Figured id give one so people arnt like 'whos that random noob whos posting." Im hoping to start doing some bolt ons here in the next month or so. For some reason im annoyed by the look of my stock muffler, so the r/t dual exhaust is probably my first bet, then shooting over to aem CAI and a UDP. From there on we'll just have to see ;P
I'll dig up some pics of my old car and take some of the new car later on tomorrow.. it's dark outside right now.
~~
Found some pics from around december of both my cars.

Shop day. We'll see. This crunchy old-dude is pretty busy. I'd probably drop them at your pad or something on my way to Santa Rosa (Safari West) on the 18th. My honey gets grumpy though when I mix business with pleasure. We'll see. Your like and hour away from me. its no biggy and a fun weekend drive for me and my boy.

Thats funny, because I live in Visalia, and I see tons of modded 2gn neons around.. expessially in my colleges parking lot. Ive never actually bothered to try and talk to one of the drivers, though a friend of mine has a srt-4 and thinks his car is better then sliced bread after he beat my boat of an eclipse. Always bragging.. great guy he is.

Funny story here - A friend of mine always bragged about his 92 Diamante and how bad it was, and fast, and - well, anyway, we raced once (I was in my 1991 b2200 mazda p/u extended cab lowrider from hell) and blew him away. He said it was because of my manual tranny.

I said it was because he bragged so much, he got cocky and forgot how to race.

Yeah I have a crap load of them. Give me a hour or so to shrink them from the insane resolution my digital camera takes and i'll post them.
If you have any questions about the 95 - 99 year eclipses feel free to ask, i have a considerate amount of knowlege thats now useless =(

Edit
Lol this car got me

Looks clean...eclipses normally arent my favorite cars (people that hate me always seem to drive them, along w/ cavaliers) but that one looked clean. shouldve done a swap or something

I dont know much about them, so I dont know what swaps are avaliable for them, but Im sure you know

Swaps in NT eclipses are like the biggest pain in the ass ever, lots of money and effort, and typically, end in failure. One guy on the forums i used to visit spent more then 10 grand trying to get a 4g36 engine in his eclipse and never got it to work. Heh, I believe he ended up with five reverse gears and one forward gear for all his trouble.
Most people who wanted more power went to hahn racing, who has a exclusive monopoly in aftermarket turbokits for the non turbo eclipse. Which wasnt a bad thing because they are pretty good quality.
I never went that route because i didnt fancy getting pulled over here in CA. Can we say instant +1000 dollar 'illegally modifying a polution producing device' ticket. In some places in California on the weekends they have check points to check to see what mods the car has and if it is legit. Heard Fresno has some of those, as well as LA.
