i want to make a list of anything/everything that can/should be replaced now.
i do oil changes every 3k miles and just switched to Mobil 1 full synthetic 5w-30 the last oil change. Just ran GumOut injector cleaner at christmas
anyway, heres my current list of ideas (* denotes that its already in my possession)... feel free to flame or add to the list
* Magnum Valve Cover and new gasket (got it cheap from Louie, its replacing my peeling valve cover)
spark plug tubes?
Fuel Filter?
Spark Plugs, Wires, Coil Pack (Stock NGK, MSD, and MSD respectively?)
coolant flush? (remember, i can get an insane discount through work @ subaru

)
i really dont know what i should have done at this time, like i said, please feel free to add to my list (brand, price, and where to find it really help) or flame a bad idea. i can take constructive criticism
thanks guys

if you run the Red Antifreeze, its good for the longest of 5 years..
Oil and filter depend on what you use, standard every 3k miles or 3 months at the most. If your using Mobil 1 oil, thats where things come into play. They state that Mobil 1 is good for atleast 5k miles, but who has tested the long term ability of it?
Plugs, stock, you should have gotten rid of them by now. The OEM plugs are garbage and I would not recomend them to anyone.....
Air filter, can you still see light shining through the element? if no then replace it.....as for the re-usable air filter I would clean it every other oil change.....
Any more info needed, just give me a shout........

im not sure on the antifreeze. im going to get into the habit of doing mobil 1 full synth 5w-30 every 3k miles. im still on stock plugs

but i hear the NGK (got part #?) stock replacements are good and cheap. i have the K&N filter for my iceman and i clean it regularly with the K&N spray thing.

Don't clean it too regularly. It's actually worse for your engine, because the K&N filter needs some dirt to buildup to help filter. I wouldn't clean it more than once every 20K. If you don't drive on gravel roads (or dusty places in general) 30-50K is more like what you should let the filter go. Cleaning it and oiling it more than that hurts your filtration.

I went 8500 miles on a Purlator fliter and Mobile 1 syn with nothing in the oil. Oil looked the same as the 3K changes.

i changed my oil a good...hmm...well, lets see, i changed it at around 48,000 and i'm now on about 51,300 on the mobil 1 5W-20...since i'm cheap, i'll push it that extra 2K and find out...I honestly think you can go more than that...i got the car with 43,000 on it and put 5,000 on it on regular oil and who knows when the person before me changed the oil and it still ran just fine...

once spring/summer starts the car takes alot more abuse. i do the occasional auto-x and ill be looking into two auto-x schools coming up. maybe ill try road racing once as well. id rather be up on my r/t's maintenance if im putting it through its paces. when i get rid of my bumper im getting hooked up with a windage tray (mainly because the af/x-race ecu increased my rpm range by about 1000rpm) and i just feel safer in general changing oil every 3k miles

btw - no need to change coil pack... those things are good until, well, they go bad

If you are wanting something for looks under the hood, like the MSD or Screamin' Demon, than by all means, if you have the money, do it. I did, and have no complaints about it - I did mine for grins and giggles mainly, no other reason to mess with it besides. Also, the plug wires should go every 60k I believe the manual says, so if you are upgrading plug wires to 8-8.5mm wires, then go ahead; the most you see is a little throttle response. Plus, depending on the wires, they should last another 60-80k or so miles

As for plugs, I recommend the cheep champions - I disagree that they are crap - some people like NGK too. So whatever is your plate of beans, have at it!

I replaced my stock plugs with NGK and they fouled out rather quickly, switched them to Champions and no more problems
