2.0 tranny wont bolt up to the 2.4

Why?? Is the bolt pattern for the bellhousing different or somethin? Just wanna know what the differences are...

one motor is a 2.4 and the other is a 2.0. theyre not related in any way. I dont see why they WOULD bolt up. the only thing thats similar (mechanically speaking) is the exhaust, i believe. that motor diff is the main reason an srt is much better than a neon IMO.

last time i checked a srt is a neon.... :?

about the tranny are you kidding me?! ive asked a lot about the swap, but cmon! :)

an srt IS a neon but its also a MUCH better neon than a lot of people know. I had to learn this too, and ive accepted it and decided to go with a swap when i get a chance!

ps og poster, even if the neon tranny DID bolt up, its no match for the almightly srt tranny! youre prob better off buying one and saving a headache asking about this any further.

all mighty....hm last time i checked they aren't that strong....that's why you hear so many people blowing apart tranny's in srt4's....in even stock srt's....

and i sware i remember you asking about if the tranny's would work together b4...

nope i dont think so, but i have asked some silly questions havent i? lol. yeah ive heard some bad things about the srt tranny too, but im sure its a better choice in any case compared to a neon one. plus the LSD and much better clutch make for a much better drivetrain. isnt it true that the 03 srt didnt come with the quaife lsd?

yea. and that T850 tranny isnt all that grand, my buds SRT has been in the shop for months and is still waiting on a tranny part :(

The main reason I'm asking about the interchangabililty is...doesn't the PT Cruiser have a 2.4 in the N/A version but use the NT350 Tranny?

As far as I know the only REAL diff between the N/A 2.4 and 2.0 is the stroke, right?? SO, if that's the only thing thats been changed between the two motors, the 2.0 should fit... RIGHT??

Actually, they are not Neon's at all, they are PL2 platforms.
