WOOT! FF Longtube Header for Magnum

YES!!! I will finally get to join the likes of Tama, Dawm, and Knoxville R/T by getting a FF Longtube header...I'm getting it from a guy on neons.org by the name of spacemanchiff...$250 shipped. Haha, it's funny, I don't even have a CAI or Throttlebody yet, so I'm kinda buying this before I have better breathing, but I couldn't pass up the oppurtunity to buy this. If I had waited any longer, I'd have to go with something else. So is there anything else I need with this header; gaskets, bolts, etc.? I am going to have it ceramic coated before I get it installed. My plan is to do this:
Header--->QTP Downpipe w/cutout--->2.25" piping all the way back to an SRT rear section...Sorry if this is in the wrong section, I'm just very excited to get started on mods on car as this is the first performance part for my baby.

I would go with a 2.5" exhaust. Especially if you plan on a new intake mani or head down the road.
I would grab a new header gasket. I also picked up some new bolts for the header as well. Did not want to fool with putting 5 yr old bolts back into my head.

yeah, isn't tama's also a non merging type with a 3" collector? I think I got rather lucky with this find as the one I bought does merge and has a 2.5" collector.

awesome, then i'll definitely be hitting you and dawm up with some questions further down the road, haha. Though I've noticed there are plenty of threads on Longtube installs, so I'll be sure to refer to those before bugging you guys.

I dont know if I saw this or not, but maybe you should get a flexpipe and install the cat too... Plus, go 2.5", not 2.25", you will be so much more happy in the long run.

doh, i hope this wont cause bad blood on here since I got the header scneonchic501...when i first saw the thread, i sent him a message and asked him if he'd seperate the header and he said yes, but there were 2 other people ahead of me...i waited a week and asked if it had finally sold and he said everyone just kept talking like they were gonna buy it but no one had money ready and I told him i had cash ready and waiting...i just read the thread about knoxville r/t totalling his car, sorry to hear about that...but then i saw you called dibs on his header, haha, so i hope he'll sell you his for the same price I got mine...I don't want to have enemies on the only forum i spend time at...as for installing a flex pipe and installing the cat, i'm not sure what exactly i'm gonna do yet...i'd really like to go with the quicktime performance cutout and go catless, or is the cat absolutely necessary?

Cat isn't necesary unless you need to pass inspection - dunno about TX, but in MO, you can pass if you know someone - no SMOG problems here like CA and other west and east coast cities.

dont worry about it...im not mad at you at all, you just did what i did. saw something that you wanted and wetn for it. I was 2nd in line. except I pmed him and said will you separate the header from the rest and he said no, right now i want to sell it all together. So i told him, if it falls through w/ the first guy, and youwill separate the header from the rest, Ill definetly take it, just let me know. So he PMed m e...sunday i think and asked was i still interested and I told him YES, if it was just the header and all he said back was oh okay. so thats why i was like WTF? so dont worry, im not mad at you....Im hoping knoxville will sell me his, if not, then i give up for real.
We'll just see if I ever buy anything from spacemanchiff again..I just couldnt believe it worked out like that w/ him, because when i bought my old trunk, I had no complaints at all. oh well...that is why I dont normally buy from the other .org
anyways...sorry to jack your thread!!

Why on Gods green earth do you guys keep wanting to put a cut out in your exhaust? Dont tell me you want to be louder and slower? I just dont get it. Get a full exhaust that will support the mods you plan (2.5" should do you for a LONG time), and leave it alone. But, the header is an excellent place to start, just dont screw up the rest.

cuz louda = mo powa, duh! haha, i dunno...got an alternative idea? My friend has a QTP cutout on his SRT (I know, big difference between the cars when having a dump exhaust) and I love how rediculously loud it gets when he opens it up...obviously i'll lose a little down low when i open it up, but i dont think it'll be enough to really bother me. Oh, can someone provide a basic list of tools i'll need to do this? Are there any extra parts I'll need, I read something about the coolant overflow bottle not fitting and then having to remove the heatshield for the cat, but can't remember...As soon as it gets here, I'm gonna try and find a good place to have it sent and have it ceramic coated...

Alright, so I finally got the damn thing...
I do have a few questions that I needed to ask, so rather than start a new thread, I figured I'd just bring this one back up...I'm confused on what I should do about the second 02 sensor...I've been trying to read up on what others have done with their's but haven't found much information. As you can see on mine, there is a bung for the first 02 sensor, should I go ahead and have another one drilled after the merge and then put a fouler on so that it doesn't read to rich? I'm trying to find this information out as soon as possible because I'd like to get it ceramic coated, but I can't do that until I've decided what to do...Another quick question and I'll be done for now...will this fit without replacing the coolant overflow bottle? I saw that some people were trading the stock one for an SRT overflow bottle because it fit better and then applying some thermal wrap on the bottom of the bottle just in case...
So the parts I'll need are:
Tools, Header, Magnum Exhaust Gasket...any other recommendations? I know Knoxville recommended that I change the headgasket as well as the bolts for the header, but I don't know if thats absolutely necessary at the moment...Gah, I want to put this thing on right now, but I know it's gonna take some time to get this thing on as well as buy a complete exhaust for it.

you should have the o2 bung installed after a cat converter. you will have to extend the wires on the sensor in order for it to reach any further back than the stock location. i'm running my car without a cat and i have a check engine light due to it, even with the non-fauler.

Well I mean the bolts are not really needed but I was going to go ahead and use new ones. only a few dollars for some brand new hardware. Also the gasket is not much and if you get a normal one other then magnum the holes might be too small for the header, restricting flow.
