Tapping in for power

Hey guys, I'm wiring up my magnum intake and when your tapping in for power, where is the best place to do it? And exactly how do you do it? I'm always afraid of frying something. I'm really good with a wrench but I never learned how to wire s___ up.
Thanks for helping an ignorant fool, Paul.

I'm not sure how you're doing your entire setup, but if you're following Kernal Panic's diagram, I used the hot wire from the battery to the fuse box for my constant source (just unscrew the nut the holds the red power wire into the fusebox/PDC and slip your wire with a ring end on there too), and for my switched source (only has power when the key is on) I spliced into the hot wire of the fuel pump relay. You'll have to take the fusebox/PDC off and get at the underneath of it to do this. Do you have an FSM to help you identify the wires in the fusebox/PDC? If you do, it should be straightforward, if not....I'll check the color of that wire if you need me too. I can't remember of the top of my head...

to do it properly (like it is stock on the R/T & ACR), your supposed to tap into the ASD Relay output, that way when the PCM says OMGSHUTOFFNOW the MTV shuts off with the rest of the engine components.
also the stock fuse for the MTV is a 15amp. might be a good idea to add that to the constant source wire.
im gonna be doing mine hopefully this week.. i was doing my own thing.. that failed, then i was gonna do it just like kernel did it.. but meh i have an R/T i have a relay and wiring already in my PDC. so im just gonna piggy off that (my 2nd relay will be the stock relay, which is already fused (15amp), ill just be adding the WOT relay and etc)
im keeping everything (msd, zex, relays) inside the car, just cause thats how i have everything ran, hopefully will keep the engine stock looking. i plan on just tapping into the stock PCM signal wire to the MTV relay from the MSD, im pretty sure it supplies ground (everything else on the relay is positive).
so that leaves me with only having the following running from wiring harness to the cabin/firewall:
SAFC2 harness
TPS signal
RPM signal
ASD Relay Output
MTV activate wire (replacing the PCM signal wire on the stock relay)
Wired as such:
ASD Relay Output powering the ZEX, MSD and SAFC2 (+)
TPS signal to the ZEX and SAFC2 (~)
RPM signal to the MSD and SAFC2 (~)
ZEX signal to Relay 1 (-)
Relay 1 to partial trigger Relay 2 (+)
MSD to trigger Relay 2 (-)
Relay 2 to activate MTV (+) via the constant source, which is fused (15amp)
**Relay 2 being the stock MTV relay in the PDC on my R/T
so when power is on, ZEX turns on, MSD turns on, SAFC2 turns on
at WOT the ZEX signals Relay 1, and it half triggers Relay 2, then at the RPM window the MSD triggers the other half of Relay 2 which then activates the MTV
man ive been staring at diagrams and wiring schematics for days.. i even zoned out on the freeway today thinking about this crap =P it better freaking work.
