Does anyone else experience solenoid whining , usually faint , when the key is forward, (last notch before start , not sure what it's called)
Edit: IAC (Idle Air Control) removed, cleaned , lubed, sound lessened and steady, machine is happy, idle is 795 RPM (250 lower) and idle speed isn't 15mph+

It's the IAC solenoid on the throttle body. It is held fully open in the "run"* position with the engine off. That's how the engine gets enough air to start with the throttle plate closed.
It can and will sing you a song at times.
*The key position is usually called "RUN"
Forward (clockwise) from "OFF" is "RUN" then "START"
Backwards (CCW) from "OFF" is "ACC" for accessories.
