Ok i have the full catback srt exhaust system. I want a new header on my car, which one(if any) would fit on my car. Let me know thanks.

check howell or modern they have headers that will fit. Howells afx long tube is the best that you can buy new, but since you suffer from the NGC like i do i would not wast your $ on a header just get boost or juice, they seem to bo the best options for us NGC guys.

i was thinkin about goin with the mag/borla/obx header, but im gonna save my money for my srt swap. The header aint quite worth 3-400 hundred for 1-2hp and a lil bit of sound. unless you dont plan on boostin, id say wait on the header.

a long tube will net him like 4 hp he has a NGC neon. if you want some sound and something you can use later if you boost, get a rear section muffler like the thermal R&D here is a link to it.

FYI - the NGC debate is still, well, a debate. Unless someone has some real proof of no gains from a header, I personally would get the LT header... my 2 bits.

thanks for the fyi but im not a noob. i just dont want to see this kid put 400$ in to an exhaust that dosent/possably wont net him any hp gains.
this however is just my opinon.

whether ngc is real or not, the neons stock breathing system flows pretty good, so not many bolt ons are gonna score big HP. my $500 apexi catback prob netted 3-4 hp and buffed up the powerband a bit, but the increase isnt super noticeable. My point is, stock/near stock neons wont benefit from exhaust/intake mods as much as say a honda will, cuz their tuned well from the factory with large pipes (for a 2.0), and a nice cold air style intake. Exhaust mods are more useful to improve the sound and aesthetics of the car rather than the performance. Id say a header isnt worth the money unless you plan to build the car a lot more performance wise. Ill even admit that my exhaust wasnt quite worth the money, but its great quality and the sound and look is awesome IMO, and thats pretty much what i expected from it, so in my eyes i got what i paid for.

you can find a mag header for under $100 shipped and it bolts right up...just need to get an upstream O2 bung welded in...I have one in my garage...just haven't got around to putting it on yet (still needs the O2 bung)

what exactly is a 'bung'? i thought that word referred to a persons bottom end
you show me where i can get a mag header for 100 shipped and ill be eternally greatful.

a bung is the threaded part that the sensor screws into. it looks like a donut with threads in the middle.

Never called you a noob, and the fyi was for the questioner. Just pointed out that the NGC has never been proven.
A mag header like JA said is a good way to go - the most gains however come from the mag intake and header too.

there ya go! now THAT would be a motor worthy of a much better header and exhaust, if you ask me. turbo will greatly benefit from free flowing lungs.

orangeblastsxt wrote:turbo manifold=header.
Tubo Manifold does not equal Header.Down Pipe would be a little warmer but then again there is no such thing as a header on a turbo. Turbo spools off of exhaust. A supercharger would have a Header for the fact that it is forced induction through intake manifold from fresh pressurized air run usually by a belt while a turbo utilizes pressurized exhaust gasses to spool turbo
Maybe if you are ever going to own a Turbo car you should do a little research on how a turbo works. IMO Just a Suggestion

^ note in the middle left part of that it says "exhaust manifold/header". I believe that pic is straight from Garrett's site. Anyone else wanna be smart today?
