Hail Storm last night :(

Post by boostinss » Fri Apr 14, 2006 12:17 pm

Well we had a hail storm last night in south east wisconsin with tennis ball hail. I went outside after to check my 2 week old 2005 Neon SXT and the whole back window was shatered. All over my hood, roof, and trunk are 1/2in deep dents :( . So i was wondering if anyone on here had any ideas how to get rid of the dents.. Thx

Yeah, get your insurance company on the phone - They'll help you out. :)

they use a suction cup where they can, otherwise its a tad more complicated... the insurance people would be the first place to call... you'll have to pay your detuctible and risk them jacking your rates, but its probably worth it, the window alone will be close to 3 bills to replace

The window just got fixed. Some guy came out and put a new one in for $375.

My mom just talked to the guy that put the window in and he recommended this place called Dent Doctor, but he said they probably wont be able to get most of them otu because they are so deep that the dents are creased.

Are you sure it's not $ instead of cents! For that price, everyone would drive to Wi to repair their dents.

Insurance will not go up due to hail damage as its considered an act of god. Call them, get them to cut you a check and instead use the money on performance mods..

That's what I was saying, but he seems pretty set on not talking to the insurance company... Maybe he's lacking a policy? Just playing... Maybe.

OK dude. your wasting your money. I have NEVER heard of an insurance company jacking your rates for an act of GOD. It was not your fault, it was not a collision, it was a comprehensive (if that).
Don't be uneasy about calling the people you PAY every month to cover you in situations like this.
Not even SUCK-ASS California, NO-FAULT Crap-Extortion Insurance would go up in this case.
Just trying to save you some cash man.

That was my plan when we had a freak hail storm that was supposedly supposed to happen last week  I covered my blue car up very well (im talking comforter from the house, and the car cover to hold it down) and didnt even bother w/ Almond. He needed a paint job, but we see how that ended....

so.... :(

Ill finish with...Insurance companies are GREAT :D esp state farm
