"Screwed" that one up... (Pics)

Ok guys, this is urgent. As I was making the last wrench rotation on my new PCV valve, this happened:
I am assuming a new valve cover is in my future, but how long can I go like that? How "screwed" am I?

JB weld to the rescue!
But really, you arn't going to want to drive around like that. It will spit out oil and oil vapor. Your engine bay is going to get dirty and things you don't want in the engine can get in there now.
Preferably you want to take the valvecover off, clean it, and stick it back on using something like JB weld or any other epoxy.

Unitl you get a new one I'd pull the cover off, clean the oil off really good using a degreaser. After that epoxy the broken piece back onto the cover. I dunno how epoxy is when it's in contact with oil but it should buy you some time until you pickup a new cover. Just dont' screw the PCV back in until it's completely hardened.

Will the PCV valve still go in if the threads are destroyed? My first thought was JBWeld, but it almost looks impossible that anything will thread back into that hole.

i was thinking to use a little jb weld as a temporary fix until you get a new valve cover.
but definetly dont want to ride around too long without a new valve cover.

OK... The broken piece has been JBWelded and is currently setting, hopefully that will get me through the weekend. It turns out that my neighbor is a mechanic at Lancaster Dodge who gets all parts for 50% off, so my new valve cover is only going to be 41 dollars.
Thanks for all the help. This site beats the "other .org" by many many car lenghts.

i have a magnum (metal) valve cover if you want. its in good shape although the finish is starting to crack in a few spots right near the spark plug tubes. other than that its fine. i can do $30 shipped if you want it... pm me if youre interested i can have it out first thing monday

I remember it saying in my Chilton not to over tighten the PVC valve. Damn that blows. I hate it when projects go bad.

That sucks man. I hate when things go wrong.

I've been seriously considering the Mancini one. Would one have to buy new gaskets? Is it hard to replace?

yea you would have to buy new gaskets but if you go to advance autos website you can buy a kit that comes out to 30 shipped
compard to what i paid for at the dealership 50$, yea i got ripped.

If you're talking about hard to replace the cover then no it's not hard at all... one of the easiest things you can do, easier than a CAI.
