MTX Tach Cluster Swap, is something wrong with my idle?
Got an R/T Cluster installed yesterday and I noticed at first startup it idles at 900 RPM then as it warms up, gradually, it drops to 600 RPM and idles there when warm. This is my first time actually watching a tach in my car. Is this normal?

Normal it is then. Idle is steady all the way through so I guess everything is good to go. Also had Trac Off, ABS & Sec lights on. Went ahead and took those bulbs out as well as my Air Bag light. It's really strange to swap in a tach cluster when I was used to no tach before, I often found myself speeding because the speedo is soooo different, I'd look down and when I thought I was going 45 I was doing 65
, just takes some getting used to. I went from a 120 mph cluster to a 140.

the computer sets the idle high to warm the engine up quicker, similar to have a choke works on carburated engines, except a lot smoother.
the idle for mtx's are generally a few hundred rpm higher than atx's.
like i think my cold start rpm is slightly over 1000rpm or at 1000rpm and my normal rpm is 700-800rpm.
2003silverneonsxt: where did you get that light for the dome? i like blue and looked around for a blue light when i got my car but couldnt find one that fit. i had to paint the lights in my monte because no one sold the sizes i needed in blue. looked pretty good too, imo
