Got the Hotchkis on but only 3 of the 4 bolts on the front bar. I got the busted bolt drilled all the way thru but it still wont come out. Gonna just over drill it and tap it. HUGE pain in the ass!

I haven't really pushed it with the new bars on, but the car is a lot more firm and seems pretty neutral with just a hint of understeer. It is also a lot quicker in transitions. Not sure if I should soften or harden the BC dampers. The front gets a bit bouncy so thinking about firming em up a bit, but dont want to skip, so maybe softer for the rough ass roads here and then crank em up for the parking lot?

I have them set on the softer setting in the back. Depending on how things go, might move them to the stiffer setting after awhile.

Star Specs will be going on after this first auto-x on the April 1st.

the koni manual should give you a good idea on how to tune 2way adjustable shocks. basically just like you're saying firm enough not to skip around, then leave compression alone and move to rebound... basically you wont know where to put your adjustments until drive and zero in on your ideal setup. keep a book you have made a lot of changes.

koni adjustments (google koni tuning guide)

Awesome, thanks. The BC coilovers are only single adjustable though.

first one is in the bag. 2nd in class and 56/114 overall.

Image

first run sucked. Course was too fast for first and too slow for 2nd. Overshot final turn to finish line, had to reverse and get thru 43.070 with 220lb passenger.

2nd run was better. Bogged off the line and kept in first longer and then down shifted into first again to get up the hill and thru the finish line. still had passenger and was 3 of 4 in class with a 35.557

3rd run, no passenger. Better start and clean run, 34.349, which moved me into 2nd by 0.069. The guy who beat me was 0.522 ahead of me. Last year he was 2.4 seconds ahead of me

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zTR4PhnXFFA

This was on the old all seasons (BFG supersports). Car handled pretty neutral with a little understeer, but most people were fighting understeer. I have the rear bar (hotchki) set on the softer setting.

Next event is on the 22nd at the Lincoln Air Park (Solo Nats site). Plan to have the Star Specs mounted for that one and maybe a few more stickers (need the extra HP!)

the other guy in SMF is Tony Salerno, he is mistakenly listed in RTP

A guy who beat me last year by 2.4 seconds only beat me by .5 yesterday so I am improving. Hoping the new tires will help me move on up.

The other NEON (98 DOHC) in class lost his PS belt on first turn of first run and shredded it...

Star specs are mounted! Auto-x at the nationals site on sunday. Looking foward to a faster/longer course to see how I compare. Cant afford the race bucket right now so I ordered a CG-Lock to help keep me planted.

run #2 killed a cone

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NYrSQ9jm ... RRCNT5Hng=

3rd in class behind a turbo'd xA, and a 1GN with a set of Hoosiers up front.

http://www.nrscca.com/files/results/402 ... esults.pdf

52/95 in PAX

http://www.nrscca.com/files/results/201 ... esults.pdf

got a lot to learn. Not smooth and not tidy at all. Car handled real well, pretty neutral...still understeered at the limit, but I could feel the tail dancing, so probably driver error more than anything.

5/20/12 at LAP.

Results 2nd in class behind a 98 ACR on slicks and about mid pack in pax.

http://www.nrscca.com/files/results/189 ... esults.pdf

Fastest run

http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=NnV1v2LMSNo

Took run 1 slow cuz people in heat 1 were dnf left and right. Run 2 was better but a gate caught me by suprise and I had to brake hard and almost stalled it. Run 3 was smoother but didnt attack as much. Run 4 I attacked more but wasnt as smooth and got a little offline and plowed a little going into the final slalom.

Next race is June 24th

http://www.nrscca.com/results.php
And look on the left side under solo and click on the date and then choose results or pax results

Keep it up, man. Wish I had more motivation to attend some events this year or at least do ANYTHING with my car. So tired of it.

I like seeing other AutoXers on here, wish we could have one big race to see who is the fastest driver, maybe at Hershey this year after Carlisle (Mark will win).

Anyway, keep it up, man, it's definitely a good addiction to feed.

Thanks. Eventually want to do some on track stuff. I am less than 30 minutes from mid america motorpark and have a few other tracks within a few hours (hastings and topeka).

We have a few neons out there, trying to get more.

6/24/12 at Lincoln Air Park. hot ass hell! Got 3/7 in class. Almost 3 seconds behind a first gen on old hoosiers and .2 behind a GTI on all seasons. 60/89 PAX. Not too happy with my performance.

Here is video of last run

http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=iCRHdwti4I0

I moved my rear bar to firm and I am playing with the knobs on top of my bcs (usually 16 up front and 24 in rear)

Sounds like you are doing a great job! Just remember a well set up autox car is going to be unstable its just a matter of how loose you can set it up before you loose time chasing it around.

got the Corbeau FX1 installed today. Went with the rails and it does raise the seat a bit. Going to call Corbeau tomorrow. They mentioned
shaving the pedestals on the bottom of the seat to lower it slightly. I want more info before I start hacking at my new seat.

Here is the info and my initial review on the seat: viewtopic.php?t=63409

I have another race on Sunday so we will see how it works in competition.

So my first run I had too much air in tires and too much dampening in the rear and I got loose at the end of the short slalom on the front half. Then I got really loose (tank slapper) on the home stretch and punted a cone in the process.

I dropped tire pressure to 36f and 34r in my 205/50/ 15 Dunlop Star Specs and took some softened the rear (first run was 16 from soft for front and 24 from soft for rear). I think I went to 12f and 16r for run 2 and dialed back the attack mode to get a safe run in. 3rd run I went harder (fastest run) and 4th run I over drove the car in a few spots.

The civic in first, got credit for somebody else's time (57.9 doesn't match well with the 70+ times). The ACR in 2nd has some old Hoosier Road Slicks that are on there last leg. Behind me is the Saturn on Rain Tires (it was hot and dry but they still are better than his street tires). Last in group is a V6 swapped civic (had a Type S logo on the engine cover)
